Just being honest, and no that was being kind.
Sorry to hear that.
I may disagree with people on issues, certainly, but I dont âhateâ anyone.
If WoWâs user population was increasing without right-click reporting and decreasing with right-click reporting then by that logic we should remove right-click reporting.
correlation =/= causation
By that logic they should be remaking wrath not classic, thatâs when it peaked right?
Also, can someone point me to other threads with Aehl and Ganelon? I feel like I just stumbled into some internet beef that I definitely want to catch up on
Sounds like a plan brother. I got my level 80 ready to go. Letâs do it.
Youâre not going to find it lol,old forum and i never responded to his posts from before i had an active account.Letâs not Derail the topic with ooooo drama!?

Whatâs the argument for this feature again?
Nope wrath peaked.
So my first post in this thread was asking if auto report disconnected the person or logged them out or anything besides limit their ability to post in chat, and everyone and their dog was pretty confident that it doesnât impact anything but communication. Itâs definitely problematic if it boots people. Especially being able to use it on opposite faction in bgs. Thatâs just dumb. Iâd be shocked if there hasnât been a fix to that yet. The first vid seems like there was more than just the single guildmate he was talking to that clicked report, and the video starts after theyâd been messing with it, soâm not sure what to make of it. But yeah. Absolutely. If you can use it to boot people out of bgs on the opposing faction this is pretty broken
So I still have to take the night off while I wait for a GM to review it? (Because there is always a wait time, usually more then 12 hours) Why not just do that about the report(s) itself?
Itâs automated if enough report you, this has been proven multiple times. Unless GMs hover over the backs of every player as they play and watch, which seems unlikely.
No you just canât talk in public chat channels or basically communicate with stranegrs, youâll still be able to talk with and play with your friends and guild.
âIt deals with toxic players quicker then a GM can.â or some pathetic excuse like that. I think the multiple ways it can be abused devastate someoneâs gameplay itâs drastically more harmful then making someone with easily hurt feelings feel safer in chat quicker. Apparently Blizzard disagrees though.
I have been silenced before, in my case it was because I was talking in trade and this person came in and started screeching like a banshee over Trump and I said (word for word) âI think he has been ok so far, I mean the world hasnât ended or anything.â and I got silenced.
I was unable to whisper, including people on my friends list, only battle tag.
I was unable to group unless invited by someone else.
I was unable to use the mail box.
I was unable to talk in any public channel.
I cannot say if emotes, say, and yell were banned, as I never tested it, but I would bet decent money they were.
I sent in an appeal, and the GM got back to me AFTER the silence lasted itâs full duration and they were like âYeah you didnât break any rules, sorry it happened.â
So my first post in this thread was asking if auto report disconnected the person or logged them out or anything besides limit their ability to post in chat
51900319 is e generic disconnection code and Ive seen it ingame a hundred times. Never once from being reported
I got one in raid, I got one heading to Voldun
The idea that what happened to him was because of a âfalse reportâ is ludicrous.
What did you say to him. If you didnt say a word then you wouldnt have been reported.
What did YOU say in return.
Lets hear the rest of the story.
Itâs like you canât even imagine a situation where people are abused by this system. Without screenshots this will lead nowhere anyway. Bringing it back on topic no one should be able to silence another player without GM intervention. They should 100% be able to tailor their game experience using the profanity filter, ignore and other techniques (grouping with friends instead of Pugs).
