Blizzard really needs to do something about this spawn, 1h to 8h is just an abusive range of spawn time for a rare that doesn’t even have a certain spawn location and that just vanishes because people don’t wait for you nor say anything about where he is. It just completely unfun and plain stupid for a mount that doesn’t even have 100% or not even close drop chance

I’ve been playing since 2018, I know that they tried to do the same thing as time-lost protodrake, but there you can at least fly and the spawn points are not that far away, fallen charger is by far way worse

Exploit early, very true for this spawn. I’m glad I took advantage of the realm hopping before they nerfed that got the mount that way after a couple of hours way back when it was new content

I already have the mount, but i totally agree, randomized spawn locations and timers are awful, and they only get worse as the content gets older.

Who here remembers the mass group finder shard hopping that got so bad that people started trolling with it and as a result, multiple people got suspended because of the mass reporting. RIP to those Mal’ganis players who were using the mount as bait and linking websites you had to go to before they would invite you and then got rightfully suspended for advertising

Sounds like OP has never gone for the TLPD, especially back in Wrath. Back then it had a spawn rate between 6-22 hours, and to make matters worse it shared the timer with another rare “trash” spawn, Vyragosa. Which one was up was random and never at the same time. Granted you could fly looking for it, there are four locations that it might spawn and a long winding flight Path up in the Storm Peaks. The mount is a guaranteed drop but it is also first come first serve (but you can be in a group of 5). The clock has rolled back on a par with the charger but the rest is still the same.

exactly! Like, people nowadays just nuke them and don’t even bother to think other people are trying to get it, I’ve seen it spawn 3 times already and didn’t get the chance to see him at all

I remember a guy I played with quit the game after he camped for Poundfist for I have no idea how long (acrossed multiple days) and then logged off, and my wife logged in for fifteen minutes and it spawned. He was so mad he gave us all his pets and gold and unsubbed.

A friend of mine camped TLPD for days, like stayed awake to an extreme level, then when he couldn’t take it anymore and finally went to sleep, i decided to make myself a snack and afk at his spot while i watched a movie, it spawned before the movie i was watching had even finished

When my friend found out, he really lost it and didn’t log in for a month. He came back and apologized eventually but said he really needed that time off to cool down.

I actually did something similar with Aeonaxx, i camped in the zone for months, like i’d get home from work, log into WoW and then afk there all night while i was cooking, cleaning, showering etc right up until i went to sleep. Eventually it spawned but on the other side of the map from me, a low level hunter hopped onto it, had no idea what was going on and he died so it despawned… i logged off without a word and didn’t come back for a couple of months

My Poundfist story is that the first time I found him I did the “right” thing and announced him in chat, invited interested players to a group, and waited for them to arrive. While the group was assembling someone else darted in and sniped him. This happened a couple of times with other rare mounts too.

Never again will I do the “right” thing. If I ever see the Fallen Charger I’m going to kill it immediately.

I get the nostalgia feeling and etc but this is just such a horrible take, it really looks like you guys have stockholm syndrome lol
