Fake Disconnects in M+

What can be done to combat the infamous “disconnect” that happens whenever there is a bad pull in a Mythic+? Is there any recourse or punishment for those who do this over and over, similar to those who leave keys? If not, I think there should be in the future.

Furiously mashes Alt-F4.

Stay in the group with them lol

Hit them with a “well well well. Look who we have here!” When they come back.

Yeah! Depends on what somebody enjoys doing in the game normally maybe. Like if you wanna just do dungeons then it would be wasting your time.

Me, I fish. For hours. :fish: gotta catch them all

Make a regular, stable group of people who do not “disconnect”

You’re completely making up the “over and over” part because no one is grouping with that same person again to witness their repeat behavior. Suck it up and go again.

If Blizz sees a pattern from the person, then yeah. It’s the same recourse as leaving.

True but I’d rather just not do nothing

Disconnecting is worse than saying a proper “GG” and bouncing. Then the four other people waste their time wondering if your game froze or something. If the run is over, don’t be a coward, say GG and leave the party.

Play with friends and guildies

Normally if someone “fake disconnects” something went horribly wrong in the run and it probably bricked at the start.
Like me i was doing a cinderbrew. 8 deaths in the first pull to people dying to puddles and getting meleed. So instead of leaving and having 4 people whisper me i DCed and swapped to another toon.
Its annoying how people feel entitled to your time when bricking keys or causing issues. But lucky i dont pug much anymore i just do keys with guildies and friends. Pugs are to lazy to do the bare basics

The few times I’ve bailed on keys I find it best for everyone to just say something like “sorry this isn’t gonna happen” or “sorry I didn’t think this would take over an hour and don’t have time” and then I just leave the group. Don’t be cowards, and then they aren’t sitting there wondering if maybe you did actually DC and may be back.

I normally say GG and dip. Only time i fake DC is like they been flaming the whole time and i dont feel like dealing with the angry dps thinking i shoukd be able to save him from a swirly

It’s a fair assumption though. You see the “fake disconnect” all the time and if they were an infrequent leaver they wouldn’t feel the need to go out of their way to disguise it. I almost never leave a key but if I wanted to I wouldn’t feel the need to hide it. It looks cowardly too…if you want to leave then own it and just do it.

I don’t need to fake a disconnect. If the group is terrible, I just leave without saying a word beyond “hello”.
