Only played retail as of last year and done with it given all I’ve been hearing about Classic. I was about to start playing Classic here but now I’ve been looking into SoD.
Just two things I want to know:

So they have said your character will be move to somewhere permanent at the end of the season we don’t have any more details than that but you’ll have access to them. However for whatever season is after SoD you will need to make a new toon on the new seasonal servers if you want to play it. Unlike Diablo though classic wow has a lot of emphasis on the leveling journey. You can speed run it and some people do but fresh servers with tons of low levels around is a lot of fun IMO. Just have classic installed. Season of discovery will have its own tab at the bottom of the realm select screen like hardcore does.
They said that all characters will eventually have a home somewhere. They just don’t know exactly how they’re going to go about that.
That said, ladder characters in D4 go to the eternal realm too. You don’t lose them.
Right but I wouldn’t wanna hang out in eternal when the new content is in the current season. Quit Diablo because I wanted an MMO and then when you listen to all the people complaining about having to re-roll in Diablo every season, they all get told to go play an MMO
That would be because seasons in Diablo have worked that way for every iteration that’s had seasons. Not exactly something that was sprung on people.
WoW’s classic seasons are still very new. This being our 2nd “Seasonal” variety of Classic. There’s very little info that people can use to help you out with your questions, and that’s by design given they’re really pushing the idea of “discovery.” Nothing any non-Blue post says here should be taken as solid fact.
So retail and classic are your options for that. Seasonal by nature lasts for one season then you start again in the next.
I’m guessing the server will be merged into a standard SoD server that won’t have changes and then they will start the next season up with more changes but you gotta start fresh. Mean while the main characters will be on a graveyard server since most will want to check the new and exciting stuff out with there friends since it will have unique content.
That’s my guess.
Ok so my prediction is we are going to have a season of discovery where we become discoverers and we discover discoveries. Discoveries like transmogs, riding mounts, loots and a dungeon filled with god fearing evil ducks! That all have the mind control spell and if they kill anyone they all level up so if anyone actually dies you have to run out of the dungeon and reset the whole dungeon. But the dungeon will be worth it because after you beat the final boss which is a ostrich pretending to be a duck. You will discover a dragon. Because the evil ostrich stole a dragon and will drop a dragon after death) from all the dragon flights. They are doing this so that one day they can harness the energy of theyre dragon flight ablities because as you all know ducks and ostriches cant fly like dragons can. Then you will discover dragonflight riding but the color of the dragon will be random. But it will be better because classic dragons can actually breath fire and other elements like earth wind and ect.
Anyways thats my prediction anyone else got predictions?
honestly dont bother so many bots and gold farmers cant get a kil. so let the game just disappear like all the others. lol ill check back when their expansions come out pending if they get it right. honestly all those ppl at launch and no multiple tag. f this game
Seasons in an MMO is the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard. Yet here we are.
I’m hoping when the season ends, they will convert the servers into Permanent ones with a new category like Hardcore but with new powers and rule sets.
Then they can do a new season with new servers but have new funky ideas for those! And if those changes are popular they can be implemented into the permanent servers.
not a ton has been announced yet but has been a fun season so far
