It seems LE is taking over the market.
That is what happens when devs play brain dead and not listen to the community + don’t know how to design a game.
The only reason I am still playing is because pservers don’t have steamdeck support.

looks like a silly game but it wouldn’t shock me if it was leagues better than D4 
The funny thing is, the game is still old style arpg which is kind of dying…
It just added a lot of qol elements into it. And ppl being asking the d4 team the same thing since d4 is launched . The devs was playing deaf …… now no one is going to play d4 anymore
Big companies like Blizzard have lost the ability to innovate; why would they need to when it’s less risky and more cost effective to follow the same formulas for success, sometimes right down to rereleasing the same games that succeeded decades ago.
The only way the paradigm will shift is if smaller developers (Larian for example) keep raising the bar and force them to take risks with new ideas, rather than farming several decade old IPs with microtransactions and regurgitating the same concepts over and over.

It’s fresh and new. Too soon to claim it’s taking anything over. When the excitement and shiny object syndrome wears off, and the playerbase goes into whining mode we will see.

To be fair… Mmorpg players don’t like innovation. We say we do, but what we really want is a game designed to appeal to a big enough audience that is really exactly what we personally want…which 99% of the time is the old stuff.
SoD is innovative, somewhat, and we have forums filled with man children angry that it’s not era.
I swear they should have been clearer and named it “Season of Trying Some Goofy Ideas, Please Don’t Throw a Hissy”.

I think he’s trying to make a joke that Last Epoch is a reskin of Diablo.
Meanwhile its got way more content.
I mean yeah, because that’s what they KNOW to be good. The problem is everyone has lost faith (for good reason) in Blizzard’s ability to create NEW good stuff.

I don’t think people have open minds about things either. Look at how many people are totally cool with various classes/specs just being terrible because that’s how it is.

Diablo and wow are both from blizzard. And the devs share the same brain dead attitude towards the community.
For example, in d4, players asking for larger bag spaces. As the core of the game is farming and crafting gears, you need a lot of mats. The devs kept saying it’s technically difficult to expan the bag space. And LE came with a huge bagpack right of bat

Nah, D4 is great. They recently put a mount in the cash shop that costs more than the game. 
People need to just accept Blizzard doesn’t make good games anymore. They make a product to fill with micro-transactions. That is its purpose.
PoE 2 will wipe the floor with it, btw.

WoW has survived Elden Ring. Baulders Gate. Fortnite.
WoW will continue on. P3 will see the population boom and bust as always.
