Failing PvP Development. I wouldn't even call it development either

We all know they won’t look at this post and most people reading this won’t actually understand the real problems that have developed over many years maybe even a decade at this point.

So you guys tried nerfing Crit Damage, nerfing CC duration, buffing healer trinkets (1m 30s), adding stamina, & finally after how many expansions/ seasons you finally nerf damage from primary stats on PvP set bonus.

Let’s really talk about the real problem here. Of course it’s damage. Healers don’t breath. DPS just stroke their egos all day and face roll their keyboards.

Now you’re trying to nerf armor and adding more stamina to see how it plays out. It won’t be anything different. If not it’s going to be worse than it is now.

Instead of nerfing/buffing armor & adding more stamina.

Let’s try this instead:

give healers another button baseline to their basic rotations excluding RDruid (yes this applies to PvE as well).

Grove Guardians is a good example of this & fits perfectly. Yes we know how overtuned it is. But this is what ALL healers needed. People were shredding through full hots cen ward in the beginning of season 2. My +12 key I did first week people were shredding through hots on trash & boss fights.

Let’s actually ramp dampening faster and force games out in 3 minutes regardless of mana + cooldowns.

STOP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP NERFING HEALERS. Start buffing EVERYTHING beside RDruid. Start adjusting damage proper.

Stop nerfing armor every season that you developers keep hidden from the PvP community because 95% of these people can’t do the simple math behind it. We all know that you are using numbers as your data instead of actually doing real testing.

Worse season by far that I have witnessed or felt since 2011 and it will only continue to get worse as the seasons and expansions go on. Good luck blizzard.

Truthfully does anyone actually enjoy this PvP experience?

Healers cannot be good without the community at large complaining about it incessantly. It has already happened with shaman/fistweaver/hpal/druid/disc at various times in this expansion alone. I don’t know what the answer is, honestly.

Players just hate the game when healers can do their job, and healers hate playing when they feel like they can’t effectively do their job. It’s a catch 22 that is impossible to solve without displeasing either a major part of the playerbase, or a necessary part of the playerbase.

Agreed. So how does everyone enjoy it and become happy with changes? I believe the only answer at this point is to go back to legion templates until there is a solid baseline of this game for the state of PvP.

Even proper 2 week tuning won’t be enough either…

I don’t actually think this is possible, truly.

The amount of times I’ve heard people say “X healer is DISGUSTING” because they didn’t land a kill after pushing their 1 cooldown, as if the mere thought a healer could possibly have the audacity to be able to heal through their damage was mindblowing and they should instead be 100% entitled to that kill, is hilarious.

There’s just a weird rift between roles, and neither side will budge. I used to think maybe it was fixable, but as time goes on I just think it’s a systemic issue with pvp in this game that can’t be solved as long as both roles are essential.

Agreed because of the numbers. Everything is modified by %'s and X factor. Each season the number will keep going up while nothing else is changed… making it feel worse and worse…

Once the can was kicked down the road, there was and is no return…

Damage really isn’t an issue since people die in dampening.

The reasoning behind why they are reworking armor makes sense. They don’t want a player to do significantly more damage to one class than another just because of their armor type. In the long term it’ll probably end up being a pretty good change, but short term I feel like it’s gonna be a disaster.

then why have armor types at all?

if you look into the history of plate armor, they were basically invincible in melee combat with the ability of the gambeson to withstand blows being the only real deciding factor, this is why war hammers exist, you would bonk the knight on the head hard enough that the force would pass through the plate and padding because the armor was otherwise impenetrable with a sword or spear. when two knights would face each other in melee combat, it came down to who had the most stamina, once one would get too tired to fight, the other would use a dagger to pierce a weak point in the armor such as the armpit.

that doesn’t make for good balance in a pvp game, but, again, why have any types of armor at all if they are just going to equalize it?

It’s not really equalized tho. With the exception of warlock with demon skin. It’s just more balanced. The classes largely affected by this are so far ahead of everyone else in balance, that it makes this change perfectly acceptable. Also, boomkin armor nerf was way overdue (thankfully they listened about that).

right now maybe, but iirc they have a hidden algorithm that adjusts and scales armor values in pvp over the course of a season, starting low and going higher over time, so when the seasonal reset happens plate wearers will get screwed and will probably have less protection than mail wearers.

incorrect. it is an issue and why healers are upset and need to be either grossly overtuned or feel weak.

burst needs looked at and pacing needs addressed.

Generally that hasn’t been the case. As season’s progress, armor scales up, not down.

Pressure does feel incredibly high. If your healer isn’t pve healing, you can feel the effects of it as a dps.

i still have nerfs in place for spell balance than hasn’t been valid in multiple expacs, when we get an armor reset again, either on season or expansion, this balance change will have been forgotten about but left in place, and then everyone will be scratching their heads trying to figure out what is going on.

cuz mah rpg experience.

idk seems pretty fine for a balancing pov. Why is an mm hunter just useless into plate while broken into cloth. How is that balanced? If everything does relatively similar damage to everything it makes class balance significantly easier. Some specs will still be tanks, but it’ll be more because of their defensives and other tools rather than just the armor type they have.

So you mean the already immortal lock/mages that in no way needed a buff? Yup…

I mean dks and warriors. Especially dks. Dk is so grossly overtuned, I bet it’ll still be S tier.

How come other mail and leather classes no touch? This was targeting specific classes I feel like. Including plate mainly.

At this point just add legion templates and remove the gear aspect from arena. Base it purely on your “class skill” like it was then.

Because mail/ leather armor values are what they are aiming for. They are a good middle ground. Cloth is a lot closer to leather now, and plate is a lot closer to mail. Rather than physical damage doing 25% less to warriors compared to something like priests it’s only 10%.

I’m personally a fan of templates, but not sure how it has anything to do with this topic at all.

Because of the main problems inside PvP. It shouldn’t be about gear or getting a legendary axe as an example.

But instead templates wouldn’t require intensive tuning that we actually never get.

There is too many problems in this game. More healers are probably going to quit on Tuesday.

Why healings completely fine outside of shuffle?
