It’s kinda WoW’s things where characters are generally very one-dimensional except for a notable few but even then they have a mixed reception. This is why I always keep saying the only thing that this fanbase responds well to is rule of cool. They don’t care about literary analysis.
So none of them at all gave a reason for it beyond that and you totally are not ignoring them to focus on the lowest common denominator to strengthen your own perilous position?
I’ve just seen buzzwords.
Oh, and some people completely not getting various literary terms.
oh cmon skinwalker i see you typing. why you here?
Not liking a character’s hairstyle does not make that character bad. Sorry that the school system failed you and didn’t teach you any critical thinking skills.
She condescendingly rejected an enhanced prosthetic arm because she didn’t want to “train”. That is akin to saying I would rather stay in a wheelchair because I don’t want to jog to improve stamina.
She lacks judgement and lets her ego make her decisions, yet she is a “leader”. She rejects a tool that not only would help herself, but everyone. So instead, she would rather endanger the lives of others since she would realistically be a huge burden and likely to require saving many times.
They made her into a character that screams “I don’t need no man and can do everything myself…except for all the weapons and equipment that she utilizes”. She’s a walking contradiction. Horrible writing.
Ain’t that the truth lol. This was very obvious in Shadowlands where some players genuinely wanted arthas to come back, say it’s arthasing time and kill both sylvanas and the jailer. I’m not kidding either, I genuinely think that quite a number of people would’ve genuinely been happy with that.
I mean, all we know about it is that it’s enhanced over the last one that was painful to wear.
That’s true. Though lately I’ve been alot more intrigued with the literary analysis side of things, and just having a chance to geek out over things that, perhaps funny enough, no one else seems to be doing.
I had mixed feelings for BfA, but it was so much fun to read the books and just see the themes in context.
One of my favorite things that came from that was just seeing Sylvanas standing against herself after so much death and destruction and how you just try to make sense of it all. Analyzing to what extent the ends justify the means, and when it does not.
Or the internal struggle for how the burning tree was almost changed to symbolize the decisive moment where something bad happens in an abstract sense.
There were some people getting extremely disturbing over Arthas doing things to Sylvanas.
I decide what makes a character bad, it’s my opinion sweetie
The subtext of Arthas of all people killing off Sylvanas alone would be disturbing considering the context of their relationship throught wc3/the game. Shadowlands was definitely no master piece but people had some pretty bad ideas on what should have actually happened lol.
That’s a slap in the face for those with disabilities that would try almost anything to gain back their mobility and dexterity. The engineer assured her it all those concerns were fixed. She had absolutely no reason to reject it besides ego.
Well, it’s bad writing until she utterly fails go protect anduin when alleria goes full joker mode and shoots him into the void at a crucial moment. Then you have a hero’s fall to hubris and an opportunity for character development.
It’s really that simple
Hahahahahah
And if that was every single one you’d have a point.
But they don’t. And we aren’t talking about anything perfect, it’s some blacksmith’s hobby project so it’s not like some robo arm. It’s an imperfect device that has its own drawbacks.
gasp You mean, she’s flawed? Weren’t you all just complaining that the female characters in TWW are presented as perfect compared to the men?
Also, where the heck does the “I don’t need no man” come from? When she rejects the prosthetic, she’s literally rejecting another woman’s help lol. The thinly veiled misogyny from you people is just getting funny at this point.
I didnt want to see arthas but it was pretty cringy how they just gave his story till slyvanas at the end of the expansion.
I really wish they kept kelthuzard dead over what they did to him though.
I used to like her, when I first met her. Then she said she wasn’t much of a cat person. Instant dislike /hj.
