Faerin Lothar is ugly and forgettable

Because I don’t see genuine support I hear Mallory Archer saying :

“Ooooh that’s a 3-fer!!!” Ice clinking in her glass of brandy

What exactly is wrong with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion?

That it’s not actually inclusive, equal, or diverse.

I was just about to say that.

When people see DEI as a substitute for entertainment value and it’s used to defend a bad game and/or bad writing.

I don’t she’s that ugly, and I’m glad for some new characters.

I’m sick and tired of characters like Alextraza who are all touchy feely about faaaaamily and have all the personality of a cardboard cutout.

Maybe Faerin Lothar will have some grit and personality.

And Orweyna, don’t forget her. She’s kind of mean to players in TWW. You’ll see.

Yes, I’m rooting for Orweyna.

They did Chromie, the 2 dudes in Valdrakken, and the Centaur gay marriage thing. It’s like I get it there are gay people, you don’t have make every new character that way for the sake of inclusion or diversity.

A single major human character in WoW is black after 20 years. Suddenly everyone’s melting down left and right.

interesting.

Look, am biracial myself, I am half black and half white, and I never understood this need that people in the US have to look at skin color as an objective means to an end. This is clearly one of those means to an end, the end being a push or shove, if you will to the political agenda of DEI, and rather than achieve that goal all they did was just tarnish the value of originality in the character. It’s dumb and idiotic, and nobody would have cared if she were just a new person.

She doesnt.
Not yet at least.
Still plenty of time to give her some action over the next few expansions though.

Faerin is not ugly nor whatever

She is an elf deal with it and she is black.

All of this attack on what and who she is is absolutely disgusting.

There was a back character in BC and LK. Someone posted it earlier.

smh I can’t believe Blizzard picked a political race for a character in my world of warcraft.

Slapping the name of a well-known old character onto a completely new one to give them more weight and to play the nostalgia card? - Check.

Female, black, has a disability, short hair, masculine body, strong and independet woman? - Check

And honestly, it’s to be expected that they’ll tick even more checkboxes.

Of course she’s not supposed to be attractive. Shes supposed to be a badass warrior and thats totally fine! I dont get how people keep complaining about how soft and milktoast the current aesthetic of WoW is, when they finally decided to give us a new character who is the antithesis of that in design.

And for people who are wondering why people find her appealing:

  • Shes a black half elf
  • She has scars
  • She has a blind eye
  • Her armor is very cool
  • She uses a shield for an arm
  • Shes part of the Lothar family line
  • Has an interesting backstory that is shrouded in mystery

That is literally it for what we know of about her. If they managed to make her compelling character wise then itll be even better.

Why are people so fixated about the dumbest things?

Great now people will be calling for another elf race lol.

I’ve never understood people judging characters on what they look in the game (well other than their mog)… I mean we have all kinds of fantasy characters that by human standards wouldn’t be considered beautiful… but yet we’re going to rate an NPC in a game or story?

Some of you people really need to grow up.
