Faerin is the character WoW has been missing. -MILD SPOILERS-

The strong, stern, focused, and committed archtype. The kind of main character that is full of conviction and believes in themselves while uplifting those around them.

She reminds me a lot of Tirion Fordring or Uther Lightbringer. Anduins character arc was bothering me because I cant stand the constant whining, but Faerin has really helped him come to terms with who he really is. She did it not by forcing her hand, but by example, much like how Tirion did for the Argent Crusade.

There’s a scene where she turns down one of the blacksmiths for the Arathis prosthetic upgrades because shes learned strength through her disability and instead asks for a smoother bump stock for her shield arm.

A truly inspirational character that is actually well written and has depth and core values like the original Paladins from OG Warcraft.

We have a new Tirion and I couldnt be happier. Its too bad shes already being foreshadowed to die so Anduin can “carry the torch”

Nah, she’s just like Yrel, let’s see if she follows the same path.

Yrel was very flippy floppy and lacking conviction until she went full blown Light Fashy.

Faerin is much more in line with Tirion. They might as well be the same character with different models.

not necessarily a bad thing

If it leads to Anduin finally becoming a man and proper Paladin Im all for it.

Yeah it depends entirely on the direction they go in. If that happens it’ll be well deserved, and about time

The only thing that feels off to me, it’s the incredibly overused exaggerated English accent. I despise it. I just cannot take a character seriously if the voice actor or actress sucks.

Her soul will be disenchanted and forged into Shalamayne to bring its signature glow back.

She’s a Mary Sue.

I love a good paragon character. Lots of fun things you can do with it.

Makes no sense. She isnt even that powerful. Just an old school OG Warcraft styled Paladin like Uther or Tirion rather than the watered down weaker men paladins of nowadays.

She reminds you of well thought out men characters lol. Case and point.

Being a Mary Sue has nothing to do with power. She is a flawless character that always knows the answer and can just fix things by really, really wanting to. Nothing about her is established or earned, she’s just that good at everything because the writers want her to be and is entirely lacking in flaws.

That is the literal definition of a Mary Sue. You can like her, and even disagree that she is one, but it’s not a criticism that can be entirely dismissed because “Shes not that strong.”

Pretty much every main Warcraft character is a Mary Sue by your definition.

Currently? Yes, the majority of major lore characters in wow are all Mary Sues. This isn’t a unique complaint leveled only at her.

How so? Please, I’m genuinely curious what makes her a Mary sue.

Except this isnt true.

Name a single instance where she failed at what she was attempting to do, had to grow as a character, had any real self doubt, or needed someone else to solve a problem for her that doesn’t include the basic “go kill some spiders for me, hero” stuff. I’ll wait.

She literally has a monologue to Anduin about how she’s failed and made mistakes and was forsaken from her bloodline for being a failure and it cost her her eye and her arm.
