So hear me out.
Size:
Faeries are around the same size as gnomes, minus a little pudginess. This eliminates any problems they’d have with interacting with buildings and doorways.
Structure:
They’re basically floating vulpera from the neck down. So it couldn’t be that much of a challenge to fit armor to their body.
Wings:
So of course this ones a bigger point, considering that if for arguments sake they were added, they’d be the first winged playable race. But seeing as they’re small, it wouldn’t be as large an issue as if they were closer in size to something akin to a human. Mounting wouldn’t be an issue since the way they fold their wings is just keeping them still behind them.
Flying:
Is there really an issue here? Couldn’t they just do what they did for druids? Their land bound stance could just be them slightly fluttering over the ground. And when they get to flight-level they could just unlock flying. Their passive could be an automatic slow-fall
Lore:
If blizz can find a way to make the maw traversable, a literal inescapable hell that easily contained gods and mortals alike with ease for eons, then I’m sure it wouldn’t be difficult to find a sound lore solution that allowed for the beings of the shadowlands to coexist with the living world. I mean after all there’s anima in everything, living or dead. The only difference is the living generally don’t have the power to manipulate it.
And if that isn’t enough, soulbinding could prove a valuable loophole since abilities and traits of each party are shared.
