“but there isn’t lore for it” all lore is made up. There is an infinite universe out there right now! Closest thing to fae we have is elves and elves are overdone. The satyr like creatures from shadowlands are fae-like. . Make them playable. If you want my $15! which is at least in the context of this post worth more than anyone else’s!!!

That was one of the races I loved playing in EQ2 and Istaria. Flying around as a tiny little faerie and doing mmo things was just fun.

Draenei are fae.
Yeah shadowlands has a lot of fae lore. Perfect time to make em playable.
Project gorgon now has faeries and never been happier in a game. I couldn’t get into EQ2 and I tried.
Incorrect. I’m guessing cause they’re goat people you’re comparing them to satyrs? They’re actually based off of traditional devil-demons. Their lore is antidemon. But from a lore crafting standpoint demonic erader existed before draenei concept did. So they had a traditional devil race and then said “oh they weren’t always demons and a group of them avoided becoming demons” but that doesn’t change the original concept. Otherwise they fit the exotic space alien trope.

I’m not gonna threaten to leave over it but I’ve been wanting a feylike race in WoW for a long time as well.
That and an aquatic one.
So a Nymph or somthing like that would make me one happy camper.

I mean, the new zone Ardenweld has potential. But if they do it I’d like them to add Satyr as the opposite race for the opposing faction.

Tbh, as much as I would love a small flying race (And that is very much) I’m willing to bet if we do get races from shadowlands, it will just be the satyr/fawn like race.
And it will probably go alliance unless there’s some problem between them being satyr-like and night elves hating satyrs.

Feywild in D&D isn’t the same as Fae/Fey in WoW. Technically the faerie dragons, nymphs, ents, stuff from the emerald dream would be fey.
Also Artigan was an Archfey, they delight in chaos and pranks.

I would still say they’re pretty chaotic.
Creatures get kinda bonkers when they know they can just be reborn with all that emerald dream nonsense.

Well that technically goes for all native outsiders in D&D. They cannot be killed outside of their original realm. It’s just Fey entities are more whimsical and mischievous about it.
Demons, devils, elementals… none of them are really similar. I mean demons are chaotic but they just want death.
That pretty much sums up the fae from real world myth as well. Most are trickster spirits that delight in messing with humans and even those that aren’t and are considered good or beneficial have nasty wicked tempers if you cross them.

One of my fav movies that deal with fae / fey like things. I couldn’t find the clip I wanted to show that also had subtitles so this one will do and it’s not too spoilery for those that haven’t seen it.
