Facts only please: What clears affix for hunters

I imagine imp Turtle/FD (Emergency Salve talent) work as well as Master’s Call.

Unfortunately my hunter isn’t geared for m+ keys so I can’t confirm that hunters in my group are as typically lazy about learning this affix as they are about learning their defensives or when to lust.

Can someone with facts on what works and what doesn’t work please advise?

I don’t want guesses, I want facts. Is this a reasonable ask? (probably not).

Talent into Emergency Salve and Feign Death will remove it since the affix is all dispel types

Thank you- can you try Master’s Call as well by chance?

I didn’t but I’m 99% certain it doesn’t work. If you’re comparing to how Master’s Call removes the DoT from Zekvir it’s because that DoT in particular also has a slow effect. The affix doesn’t slow in any way, it’s a healing absorb and all-type dispel so Master’s Call won’t do anything to it

I think you should try it out for science, as Blizzard and the content creators they pay to hype up this game have stressed that any kind of dispel ability works

Masters call is like pally freedom needs to be a snare/slow component to it for it to work. So hunter uses emergency salve and either fd or turtle to remove the affix.

^ This. When they say dispel they broadly refer to poison, disease, magic, etc. The community as a whole wouldn’t call for dispel for a slow removal, they’d say “Freedom” even if it wasn’t a Pally because it was the original

I follow ya, and Freedom doesn’t work on the affix, eh? Escape Artist?

It does not since there is no slow or root component so none of those do. It needs to specify some type of dispel e.g. poison/disease removal or a magic or decurse. Don’t really know if I can make it any clearer than that.

Thank you everyone, I super appreciate the straightforward replies.

Not that I would use it this way, but does Exhilaration heal enough to remove it?

I’ll be honest it would be wasting a 2min CD when a niche 30sec cooldown removes it, but on the off chance you used FD to counter a targeted mechanic I don’t think it would fully remove, but it would be a decent chunk for the heals to finish off. Haven’t had the chance to test it myself, I hold FD for it.

From running a bunch of keys last night, I don’t think Exhilaration hits for enough but its close, if the healer has a HoT running on you; as someone else said though its definitely not worth it. Emergency Salve + Feign is 100% the way to go, it makes this affix free for us.

Yes, I agree with the two above that responded to me about using FD for it. I was just curious how much of a heal it would take if FD was on CD and you were in dire straights. Thanks for the replies about it!

You say that but in 2 different +8 dungeons 2 different hunters were really being bullheaded about not even trying it, and when I inspected them they had the imp FD/turtle talent already
I am honestly trying to stay cool, but also trying to push keys with pugs like hunters and mages that won’t even try to put in some effort with this affix for example.

I think the default WoWhead M+ build has emergency salve talented in, so I’m sure they’re copy pasting the build without actually knowing the interactions

Heh, its possible we hunters that actually give a crap about helping the group end up mainly running with guildies instead of PUGs; I’m certainly not surprised that PUG hunters aren’t using ES – either its not in their copypasted meta build and they don’t realize they can easily move a point, or they’ve never even read their class nodes and realized there’s trivial solutions to this kind of thing.

The answer is play a Dwarf, Stoneform is your savior.

You also get a rocking beard.

Darkiron has better racials. Fireblood is a bigga savur. You get rocking, burning beards too, and to include slightly better movement speed in dungeons.

I used to have a DI before Retail Alliance spoiled it.
