Faction locked servers?

How do any of those work any better than what was shown? Her point is valid, in 2004-2006 people could, and did, easily communicate outside wow. Messenger and Discord arent anything that didnt exist in other forms.

I didn’t say they work better. I said there are more ways in 2019 than there were in 2004, and there are. End of argument.

Actually, no, because your point is just plain ridiculous in this case. People had more than enough ways to communicate as it was. Adding more is like overhealing in a raid, it just doesnt matter. Now chill out. The other forums are where you want to be if you just feel like arguing irellevant points for the sake of arguing.

Sure, bro. Keep telling yourself that. Any ways, I’m done with you.

To the actual POINT of the OP’s thread, there is no compelling reason why factions should be locked per server. If you’re logged in as Alliance, you’re playing for Alliance and desire Alliance victories. If you log in as Horde, you’re playing for Horde, and desire Horde victories. If you’re playing a double agent, you’re adding another level of intrigue to a PVP server. All three options are acceptable.

Change my mind.

It’s not just about communicating with the other side. It’s about having a character over there.

“Oh, horde is winning battlegrounds lately? guess I’ll just play hordeside for awhile…”

Not sure that’s a valid argument since you can do that on PVE servers already.

Found where I heard it. I do not support this youtube channel it was the only place I could find the interview.

They address cross faction talk. They do not give a real answer however they achknowledge cross faction conspiracy was against ToS and probably will be again. It’s something I guess.

Seems like it would be easy to see someone giving info over bnet service so I dont see why they couldn’t lock factions. I personally hope they do, I enjoy the experience better when it is.

I’m good with a faction lock. Seems like it’d create a little more faction pride. Though I always played on PVE servers so I wouldn’t know.

I plan on going PVP server this time though so I hope it’s vanilla-like.

Lol. You’re really arguing this? There are more providers of the same platforms used back then.
VOIP- voice over internet protocol
Roger Wilco, Ventrillo, Teamspeak, Discord, Skype -with camera is still a VOIP program. Those are different developers of the same service. Roger Wilco was used in like 98-99 on UO.
You’re too funny.

IRC, ICQ, MSN, Aim, Yahoo messenger, and all those other Internet Relay Chat programs are just that. Internet relay chat.

Now sure discord, bnet, and skype have combined the two into one program and gamers have pretty much adopted discord as the go to VOIP but its still the same thing we had back then. Chat and vouce communication.

Fakebook is nothing more than a forum they convinced everyone to join so they have a photo database and location tracking on everyone.
Still its nothing more than another chat program. Remember Myspace?
None of this is new. Functionality and optimization improvements but its still the same and no. There are not more ways to communicate just more developers have published the same type of tools. Ya gotta be kidding me…

If anything discord has become the standard. Like I said the go to for gamer communication.

This right here.

This is spot on.

The game was designed with an emphasis of the war between the horde and the alliance in mind. Being able to easily and seamlessly switch from an alliance to horde character goes against that philosophy.

Yes we have 100’s of methods to communicate over the internet as well as battlenet, but maintaining the faction lock on pvp servers is still fundamental to an authentic classic experience.

Talking to the other faction with 100s of communication methods is one thing . It’s another being able to run both factions on the same pvp server.

If you want to play both factions role on a pve server, or pay for 2 accounts.

Must’ve been a little difficult. I mean, it took you three paragraphs.

Actually, the point of the OP was simply him asking if there’d be a faction lock. Not reasons in favour of. Soooo…

3 paragraphs is nothing. I can write a 250 word essay with my eyes closed. Lol

It sounds like you just want to be able to play both factions. Okay. Its nice from a pve perspective. And against the classic philosophy on a pvp server.

Maybe you could come up with a possible method that would allow you to play both factions on the same server without breaking authenticity? I doubt it can be done.

Easy. Changing factions on a PVP server comes with a one-week lock out from the opposing faction. Match it with the raid resets if you like.

Don’t play coy. Enhancements as a positive thing.
And judging by your avatar you’re no stranger to enhancements.

Spying maybe?

So maybe you made that night elf up there too.

Again. How dare you?
