Faction Imbalance

Still a problem that needs to be fixed we need faction ques

You are mistaken.
Was never a problem that needs to be fixed and faction queues are hands down the dumbest suggestion ever to grace the WoW forums (and that’s some stiff competition).

Nah…

How’s the balance on Whitemane? Isn’t that one of the better balanced servers anyway?

We need free faction changes for the dominant faction, in most cases horde I’ve been saying this before phase 2. Faction queues will do nothing but hurt players and not tackling the problem head on, but many alliance will be like “No, you only want this for instant queues”. There is no changing their mind but I hope you and others look at this with an open mind. I want balanced servers for the good of classic’s future, not any other motives.

We have them, via Rerolls. Available to everyone on all realms.

Re-roll my young grasshopper.

It’s not a problem on pve servers. Give them a try.

It’s not a problem on PvP servers either, it’s a feature of those servers that the factions are imbalanced.

There are a few that are closer to 50/50.

hasnt in 15 years and will never will be play something else if it bothers you that much.

It was before the honor system came out. The Alliance population hasn’t recovered, as they literally couldn’t go out in the world for an entire month. It caused a lot of people to quit or transfer off or raid log.

That’s literally hyperbole.

I do understand that some people claimed to have quit during Phase 2, and some have stated that the reasons were because of faction imbalance.

Also, fwiw https://ironforge.pro/servers?region=us&filter=true is showing that as far as the almost 10000 characters who have been logged raiding during the past 2 weeks on Whitemane, the faction balance is near perfect.

I left that server because the Q’s were absurd… Transfers did become possible later on, but the balance is roughly 60 /40 with the horde being the over populated faction.

With the insane number of undead priests on Whitemane I chose to re-roll alliance, my guild did all the same because we discussed it and saw that there were just too damn many horde players and knew the BG’s would be long Q’s for the horde (long term).

So we dropped out previous mains and re-rolled alliance and it’s been a good choice thus far.

IMO more people should do it; if you’re horde and want fast Q’s and are decent in PVP then PLEASE come join alliance side… Pick a new server if you must, but just roll alliance.

The baddies will stay horde and you will enjoy fast Q’s and everything else you wanted.

Don’t expect the rest of the alliance to play well in pug’s they will never do this.

They could play, they could go out into the world during that month, they just often lost at PvP conflicts at that time. As that is part of the ‘PvP server experience’ they signed up for it’s all good.

That doesnt account for people who literally sit in iron forge and dont go anywhere until raid time.

That’s correct. There’s also some consensus addon based data, and then there’s word of mouth, and gut feel.

Unless you have some other data sources?

I was checking out server balances over the past few days and on Whitemane at every level range there was 3 to 4 times as many new Horde leveling up. Checking a high pop PvE server to Whitemane there was 3-4 times as many Ally leveling up.

The raiding statistics from IronForge is not a very good indication of overall server balances, you need a fresh influx of new players to replace all the ones that have quit, will quit or will server transfer off.

I know my personal experiences on your server was I better not go anywhere alone or I’m gonna have a bad time. Not hard to believe someone might have a similar experience on another server.

Certainly. I mean, as long as we understand what the words being used mean in:

we can easily see that it is hyperbole, and factually inaccurate.

I leveled during phase 2 on a Horde dominant server. I wasn’t alone.

I also was able to quest through STV and Tanaris, on weekends, during peak hours.

Did I quest at the Burning Steppes? The one time I did was to start the Ony Attunement quests, and I got up very early on a Saturday morning to do it, and found a couple other people to party with.

Personally, I very much enjoyed phase 2. Some people didn’t. That’s fine. It’s not particularly helpful to exaggerate the conditions, and state that it was “literally unplayable” when it was still very much playable.

As, especially people who are on other servers, will not know that it is obvious hyperbole, and may take it at face value. I know I initially had, and it prompted an interest in spending several hours/days researching, and rerolling on various realms to see what was happening.

It is not Blizzard’s job to “fix” anything that you say is a problem. It’s that simple. In fact, it’s nobody’s job. There is nobody whose job is to “fix” every problem for you.

Classic is a copy of Vanilla. Vanilla never had faction-balanced servers.

“Faction-balanced servers” is not a Blizzard design. It is a wacky, off-the-wall idea that players invented, because some players claim to imagine that it might fix some “problem”. What problem? That PVP players cannot act like they are on a PVE server. That’s the problem.

But Blizzard isn’t going to let players re-design the game. Even if the players call it “a fix”.
