Dude you can still have faction identity but also have peace and work together. America has its identity, so does Europe, Asia, The middle east. Different states have their own identities and such, same as cultures, and guess what? They don’t have to be enemies.

Said it before and I’ll say it again: they mistake their manufactured tribalism as actual enthusiasm for the story, and cling tightly to anything that makes them feel better about it.
The issue I see is because according to the story, Alliance and Horde are still “at war”
You really can’t have us working together, but also at war, but friends, but also enemies
They should pick a side. Get rid of the whole war and make us friends, or stop writing stories of us working together and just have it be an all out war
The worst part is that former devs and other employees have complained about that culture at Blizzard and have said that they carry that manufactured tribalism (love the term and totally stealing it) into their daily work lives.
Kind of random but I didn’t want to make a whole thread for this one thought - anyone notice Ion was like the only one to not wave when introduced during the Q&A? It doesn’t really matter I know but it just struck me as odd, especially as there’s been talk about him on the forums lately. Not even a smile. Just doesn’t seem to give a **** about his job or this company.
I thought he was actually fairly accurate with his answer.
It was largely due to racials at one point, but we are well past that point. Racials aren’t the primary reason anymore.
They are open to the idea of cross-raid, cross-dungeon, but doing so kind of eliminates the concept of faction. So they want to tread lightly. (I agree with that).
So most likely they will pull the trigger when it starts costing them subs… but it seems like they at least understand the problem.
That’s fair, and I get it. It just kind of sucks to watch someone on a panel look SO uninterested. Maybe it’s not disinterest but it translates that way (for me).
Indeed. We’re still going to prefer one faction over the other and poke fun.
But damn, we should at least be able to merc mode some instances, be able to tag the same mobs… Identifying with a faction doesn’t mean we suddenly can’t assist other people. That’s just hateful.
I am not talking invite rando allies into TB; I’m talking fighting side-by-side with someone I’d rather not have tea with but would totally gut a giant pig with.
Their responses were valid. Warcraft is AvH whether you like it or not. Its where they spent massive amounts in marketing and merchandising. At this point, its bigger than WoW itself, so they aren’t going to throw it aside without careful considerations.
Me being able to do M+ with my blood elf buddies doesn’t mean I’m not going to go find them with war mode on later and corpse camp them until they log off.
