Faction Defection

Hello! I wasn’t sure of where else to ask this, so please forgive me if this is the wrong thread.

I was wondering if it is possible (lore-wise) for a Pandaren to defect from one faction and be accepted by the faction they’re defecting to.

I guess nobody would ever notice one new panda among the many that already exist in both the Horde and the Alliance.
Also talking about Alliance, they have been willing to work with members of the Horde on so many instances that I must asume they wouldn’t really care.

Isn’t one of the leaders of SI:7 a Goblin?

Goblins as a whole aren’t Horde, though many Cartels have become Horde biased due to their money making war-peddling in the first and second wars.
Besides, he’s from classic before the Bilgewater even joined the Horde.

I read that word as something spelled similarly but with a very different meaning.

Anyways yeah, probably. If they just sorta stay quiet and slip in to the other faction no one would probably bat an eyelash other than fellow Pandaren imo.

Blizzard seem to be allergic to defectors because in all of the Alliance and Horde there’s rarely people defecting along racial lines. Like Tauren this expansion being disgusted with what Sylvanas did to Teldrassil or people with personal, Defias style, grudges against the faction switching sides. Maybe it just makes for a simpler story.

You’d have to do a race change like everyone else, only you’d get to change from Pandaren to Pandaren.

The automatic question is yes EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE, but lore only has confirmation for a very small slice of such questions asked. There isn’t even much out of game canon for Pandarens at all.
