Faction change for Era when?

I used to main Horde on Whitemane, but since returning from SoD I have realized how grotesque the cluster has become and no longer wish to participate in the GDKP/degeneracy the cluster has degraded to. I now play on Alliance on the Mankrik cluster, but would love to move my horde toons over to my new guild. Pls Blizz, allow us to play enjoyably the characters we love.

(inb4: “it was always gdkp” - I agree, its just gotten far worse in the past 6 months).

While you’re over there, tell players on the pve cluster to stop ruining pvp games.

If they are gonna queue they should at least put in minimal effort.

If you can stomach things like tokens, daily quests, and dungeon-sized raids, Cata Classic has Rated Battlegrounds! And some pretty decent WPVP, too (if that’s something you’re in to).

:woman_shrugging:

I tried tbc pvp and it was really bad, future expansion seem to only double down those decisions.

In the end it’s no worries, but vanilla pvp does have a small chance at becoming a real viral phenomena. Because the gameplay is actually good.

Though for that to happen blizz needs to purge the players that willingly hold it back probably by adding some sort of rating system.

Or even just allowing full premades, so those who don’t want to be matchmade with throwers could exclude them from their groups. That would probably be a very low resource cost solution to implement.

But yeah, if they did address this (or even acknowledge that it’s a thing), that would be great!

Yeah totally agree.

The SoD changes that went to Era made the experience worse for both premades and pugs. Premades now have to waste time queue syncing. And in doing so, they are destroying pugs games that are trying to form.

If blizz gave everyone a single number (their MMR) and used that to try to matchmake when there are lots of people or just whoever is available when only a few people (with like 5 min delay to fill the pool or something) - we would be in a great place.

All this wow-style ‘you can only queue with x players’, or ‘your mmr is tied to your team and you cannot solo queue ranked’, are all crazy delusions that occur when pvp is designed to appeal to pve players.

PvP ranking is about making a competitive ladder with good games, not handing out dragon mounts and titles to crying nerds. They should remove all rewards beyond a changing number (MMR) when designing these things. It NEEDS to be fun in itself, if people do it for the reward you already lost.

So that’s a problem but micro transactions so you can faction change is fine?

I fully agree. I yell at people for doing dumb things or just AFKing for honor.

Mankirk needs horde; move them anyway and play both factions

I tried playing Alliance whitemane for a while, have a 60 over there with some raid gear, and wowie, Horde is the much MUCH nicer faction to play on. Find a guild to play with on Whitemane ally or suffer immensely.

As for faction change and moving to Mankrik, no. The moment you allow people an ‘out’ from their actions and reputation, it goes to all heck. Again, whitemane and how easy it is to power boost/gear and you get GDKP pot stealers every day.

Yep, fully agree on the pot stealers and stuff. The server has just worn me down to not having fun on it anymore. Between pot stealers/GDKP leaders being greedy and toxic I don’t like running GDKPs even on horde side. I joined an “SR” guild that turned out to be the officers just HRing whatever they wanted for that week. Quite unfortunate.

That’s a trash guild then. Shame…

Yeah, I think those sorts of guilds are far more common than blizzard wants to admit. When they banned GDKPs in SoD part of the stated reasoning was to promote the guild structure.

In my experience, it has been about 50-50 raiding with guilds between amazing and horrible experience. That’s kinda wild that players are expected to engage in such bad odds.

The thing is that it is really hard to make good SR / LC systems that balance rewarding those that put in extra work for the guild, pump hard in raid, and have been there for a long time versus new players that just joined the guild. Too often you get into situation in which the older members basically have enough ‘points’ to forever take the loot over new member, or vice versa, where new members can easily get hard to get items than they leave and the guild vets are lacking the hard to get items.

Good thing GDKP solve most of these, and if blizzard would ban gold buyers / sellers the main vector for abuse in gdkps would be closed.
