what if we got ‘faction specific’ classes? or more specifically, classes that name/lore-wise are different, but gameplay wise, exactly the same.
bad example: shadow-hunter for horde, mage-blade for alliance.
…man, was gonna start this off about wanting a 3rd mail class, but it just… devolved as i tried to type it…
ahem can we please have a dual-name 3rd-mail class blizzard?
Class skins, like green fire for warlock? Yup.
If you mean true classes, we had shamans for the horde and paladins for the alliance. It sucked, so they kinda broke the faction exclusivity.
A mail class could be Warden, which could even have a tanking role. But blizzard preferred to force demon hunters in the last expansion, despite them being quite rare.

well, it’d be the same class, but different name, that’s what i’m trying to say, but not wording good. like same spells and everything just… different class/spec names.
also, warden? that’s a better match for shadow-hunter!
Yeah, I was thinking that as well. They kinda have the same shadowy theme, seem to wear medium-heavy armor, and use some magical abilities. Could even throw in the Dark Ranger, and boom, you have three specs.
Warden (Watcher?) being the tank one, Dark Ranger being the ranged one, and Shadow Hunter being a melee with some caster abilities, like enhance shaman.
that’s… not quite what i meant. shadow-hunter would be the horde version of the warden class. not a spec for wardens. same abilities/spells and specs, but loa/troll themed. instead of nelf themed.
Was just overthinking the mechanics for the class. Would need to rename the talent trees, of course, but the archetypes could fit in the same dual-named class.

I mean, technically Horde have no paladins, they have blood knights, sunwalkers, and prelates. Based in this example we can be pretty sure that the best you’re going to get is quest text.
except that guy (can’t remember his name) in battle for dazar’alor refers to the prelate there as a paladin so… horde does have pallies.
edit: found his name. it was matthias shaw. thought it was a random general for some reason…

Sunwalkers, I agree. But the Blood Knights have, at the end of the TBC, let go of their naaru draining ways and went back to venerating the light. So they count as paladins, like dwarves and humans.
