Faction balance Arugal OCE

Which faction we be more popular on the only OCE pvp realm (Arugal) ?

My friends and I want to play on the smaller faction.

If retail OCE is anything to judge by then the pvp server will be alliance dominated.

You forget that on launch Blackrock Horde was the biggest Aus PvP horde population first year until the first OCE realm came out.

Many of those original Aus Horde players ended up rerolling Ally Frostmourne with it being the first OCE PvP server, as after playing for a year they wanted to experience the other side.

Part of me feels many current “stuck in” Frostmourne players would be rather fatigued playing Alliance so long and may want to play as Horde this time around, although there would also be many wanting to relive their exact character over again.

I think unless they start spinning up a crazy amount of new servers quickly to cope with unforseen demand the faction balance may remain somewhat even this time around. Too many severs at once and people would start gravitating to the faction advantage.

Easily alliance

hey mellow

remember, the alliance and horde dominated servers on retail only got so bad because of structures blizzard introduced over 10 years:
faction transfers, no restriction on ally & horde on same server etc

Arugal is going to be so jam packed with players, there won’t be any noticeable faction imbalance

secondly, it will be very hard after starting out as one faction, to switch to the other if you think you’re on the “smaller” faction, because you’d have to delete all your characters and start over completely.

so I wouldn’t be too concerned
those are my thoughts

hey dude long time no see,

just wondering if everyone will go horde because the racials are so much better for pvp

The classic Oceanic discord poll suggests there will be significantly more horde than alliance. As far as I’m aware this is the best and most reliable data we have on this issue.

can you link to it pls

link please

its amazing how traumatized people are from retail faction imbalances, shows how bad things have gotten.

I’m really sure that the two oce realms will be so full for so long its not going to matter.
Having fewer realms is likely going to be a good thing.

traumatised by having no one to gank

It’s highly unlikely there will be faction imbalance.

There’s literally only one realm. Worst case 6:4 in favour of horde but it’ll be fine IMO.

Current poll data via reddit (reliable, I know), shows about 55% horde, 45% alliance.

However, the poll is somewhat biased as its sample is drawn from players who are actively keeping up to date and interested in WoW Classic, and not Joe Blow from down the road. Thus, take it with a grain of salt.

Search classic wow Oceania on discord and view the role selection data. There’s a good sample size (around 1k) and from memory there was around 20% more horde than alliance.

idk how im old

Recent survey results showing horde will be the dominant faction on Arugal.

thanks, looks like remulos gunna be pretty empty. enjoy raiding when your server cant even fill a raid team

Empty on a relative basis but the population will probably be fine. The issue at this stage is Arugal is going to be massively overpopulated.

I would say it would be overpop, but i have been login to classic throughout the last 48 hours to see the server status.
Its always Low, where as all the USA servers all say they are Full of people just trying to create an account.
I don’t know if the Server POP is going to be that high to be honest.

I would like to be wrong.

Retail stats all OCE realms that are level 120 (counting alts)
48.9% horde
51.1% alliance

Arugal has been “high” the last few nights.
