All we can go on is what they mention. And we know that can change at any moment, so it can be retconned or completely ignored.
This to me seems like the best compromise. A few weeks back I started a thread about that very thing. I was surprised at the amount of opposition to the idea of just allowing Void Elves to have High Elf customization options. They would still be VE in name but they could look like HE.
Honestly, the lore changes, gets retcon, etc… all the time. And the biggest disappointment within the lore actually is more along the line of the BfA story.
It does, and it’s getting like comic books where it’s hard to know sometimes what the lore even is. Because it can change by the week, or be of in a book somewhere that only few people have read.
You turned from your allies, started using dangerous magic, allied with the Orcs who murdered your people and burned your forests, are now allied with the very Trolls instrumental in the Troll Wars against your people. Sure, you’re “more Helf” then they are, lol.
Our “allies” tried to kill us, our Prince and Nelves sent spies.
Darkspear are not the same trolls. Orcs are no longer under the influence of demon blood. But Nelves still hate us or don’t trust us. And humans feel Elves should have stood beside them despite everything that went wrong. They aren’t allies.
The elves were only serving out an agreement, a promise. That was fulfilled.
All blood elves are high elves, but not all high elves are blood elves. As long as they exist as their own alliance entity in game, which they do, then people will ask for them even if the main difference is merely eye color and allegiance.
And by your “allies”, you mean the people of Lordaeron? Or maybe the Kirin Tor, who you guys BEGGED to be let back in? You keep blaming the wrong humans.
Darkspear aren’t the Trolls I’m talking about. You’re allied with the Zandalari. The Zandalari worked with the Amani to try to bring down the kingdom of Quel’thalas. And the Amani also come with the Zandalari.
And yet Orgrimmar is named after the very Orc general who burned your forests and killed your people. You probably proudly prance around there, ignorant to that fact.
Oddly enough, the Nelves were right about you. Kinda funny that even Metzen said that.
And it was Humans as well as the other races of the Alliance, along with Velen at the head, who cleansed your precious Sunwell and helped your race with your addiction problem. But look at you now. “You’re not allies!”
High Elves are High Elves
Blood Elves are Blood Elves
Don’t @ me
- Blood Elf
Alliance of Lordaeron, Alliance of Stormwind are the same when it comes to dealing with elf issues. I wish Nelves better luck, but seems like they will have to deal with that on their own. Nothing really has changed.
Zandalari have different groups. There are some that allies with the Mogu too. Some that didn’t. One of our first quests in BFA is, wait for it, to attack the Amani!
We are elves, we don’t prance in mud. We also joined Thrall’s Horde. So try to manipulate things as much as you want, you know they were our only possible home. Since it was the Alliance that pushed us out.
Sure Belves wanted to leave during MoP, because Garrosh was another Garithos.
Nelves hated magic. Helves of the Alliance have gotten away from Mana, so they are not what they use to be. Their philosophies are closer to humans or Nelves.
Velen is cool, but he’s not human. Most of the Alliance would not accept Belves. And would want us away from the Sunwell. And our ancestral home. There’s nothing in the Alliance that resembles our way of life.
I love the hilarious hypocrisy laced all through your post here. “Oh, I blame Stormwind for everything that Garithos did, but the Orcs are blameless for their own actions! All Humans are alike and every action taken by one is shared by all! But the Zandalari are different groups! You can’t blame them for acting on their kings orders!!”
Yes, I’ve done the Horde quests. You attack the Amani not because they’re your enemies, but because the Zandalari want to put them in line and know their place. You don’t kick them out or anything, you just show them that you’re higher up on the rung than they are in the chain of command. You’re still allied with them.
A clear and complete show that you have no idea what you’re talking about. Many High Elves are mages, by the way. I can go into Stormwind RIGHT NOW and find a High Elf mage.
Exactly. You. Have. Changed. You are no longer like the High Elves you used to be. You are no longer High Elves.
Your whole shtick of “The High Elves who really didn’t change at all are less High Elven than we, Blood Elves, who have changed quite a lot since the Sunwell was corrupted!” is funny, though.
No I’m saying the Alliance hasn’t really changed.
You are saying all Orcs and Trolls are the same. I’m just saying that humans only approve of elves if they act more human. Because that’s what’s been true.
I am not allies with Amani at all. They aren’t in our capital. We have zero NPCs or playable options. But nice goal post move. Didn’t work.
Helves are mages but Belves get looked down on for Mana addiction. Because it’s not the human allotted amount of use. Nor the Nelven approved.
No we have not changed. We are still in our city, with our culture with our well. Not living by anyone’s approval but our own. Helves are neutered on the Alliance.
Yes, this is true.
However, the title of your thread is not. Not all High Elves are Blood Elves.
Fact of the day
That is bait
High elves are just how they’ve always been. Heck, they taught humans magecraft. How are humans “neutering” them? You have your lore totally wrong, and it looks silly.
They are away from their culture, their other people and bedding with humans. Living on Alliance approved terms.
Do you think the majority of Alliance would welcome Belves without changes?
No, how is that related to high elves? You’re so confused, friend.
You got into this conversation. Maybe follow it?
It’s less of a conversation and more of several people trying to teach you WoW lore, since you don’t know any. Just doing my part.
I know WoW lore. It started with someone telling me that the Alliance is different now and would be better allies. I don’t need a lesson in let’s pretend the Alliance never do anything wrong.
