no instead, you act like you know it all then refused to cite anything with any sources.
First, you didn’t ask me for sources.
Second, you know these sources, you’ve seen them in the threads you frquent. You choose to ignore them.
Just like how you and other Anti’s do it as well? If you agree with it, then you use it, but if you don’t agree with it, then you ignore it?
So Id be like a High Blood Elf?
Just ignore them, they are one of those rabid fans that tries to sculpt everything into what they want it to be. They will just twist and turn any reference or claim X isn’t canon, or Y is, yada yada yada. It’s like dealing with a flat-earther or antivaxxer, no amount of proof is proof to them if it doesn’t support their bias.
Thanks for proving your Bias.
Yeah, a bias that even Ion shares. You know, the lead game designer… I’m sure he’s just kept in the dark and fed night-soil like a mushroom…
Ion:
“- No clear idea on who the High Elves are as a larger group”
Nice try. But no, continue on with your bias.
Oh trust me, I know it well, been involved in this… debacle for far too long. Whatever it’s canon and goes against what they want, it’s something that should be mentioned again and again only for them to ignore it and instead grasp for any straw that supports them.
It’s very frustrating.
Well, he did say they were “kinda” High Elves, in that the two groups share history until the Lich King came along, though many High Elves had not lived in Quel’thalas for some time, as they had their homes elsewhere, meaning that many of them were already distant from the ones who became Blood Elves to begin with.
He did acknowledge in that same sentence that they are different. Just not different enough for a playable race in WoW, especially during an expansion that was supposed to focus on the faction conflict.
As far a Blood Elves being a substitute, Blood Elves themselves have veered off from what the people used to be. They act and even think quite differently from the High Elves of old.
At this point I’m starting to wonder if you know what the meaning of the word “remnant” means. It means those that remain. If they remain, they still exist, even if it is in small numbers.
You’re completely missing the entire point. High elves, as in biologically speaking, still have some remnants around Azeroth, yes. High elves, as a society, no longer exist, which means the race of them is gone. A few stragglers doing their own thing do not make a race.
Yeah, they’re not “pure” apparently.

Quel’Danil Lodge, Silver Covenant says hello.
Oh right, ignore those, because that is all you and other anti’s do.
Yeah a couple dozen at an embassy and again, the Silver covenant is pretty small as well. They also have their own goals and objectives. They aren’t true HEs anymore, societally speaking. They have their own mission and agenda.
You’re right. They do have there own missions and agenda. Just like how Quel’thalas and Scryers have there own missions and agenda.
Your interpretation of what constitutes a race is also very strange. You also downplay any actual show of society and grouping by High Elves.
By the way, who made you the “High Elf Race Gatekeeper”? I’m imagining you saying “Rexxar isn’t a Mok’nathal. Those don’t exist, because he just acts like an Orc.”
This is something that always bugged me, specially with Quel’danil elves. They’re supposed to be the odd ones out that are actually independant from magic which essentially turned them into washed off night elves and indeed, currently meet none of the things that makes a high elves well, a high elf.
But hey… you know, it’s not about the pretty elves, it’s about the rich lore.
Meh… Ion recently stated that BE are not the same as their HE counterparts when asked on whether or not BE were getting blue eyes. If you don’t like the notion of people getting HE more power to you, but at the end of the day, if they choose to make them playable, then that’s up to them and saying “Not gonna happen.” cause you hate the idea isn’t gonna make them change their decision. Just my two sense.
Also, let us not forget the reskinned NE addicts.
Huh?
Double points for the irony of posting this in an already reskinned blood elf mate.
