I just canceled my subscription. Im not transferring to a dead server, change my characters name, and leave behind my guild. Nor am I going to pay for a game that I cannot play.

See, you CAN play you just choose not to play on a less populated realm or transfer. The EULA even states this as much.
Still though, you made your choice and it is a solution to Q times.

I agree that Blizzard needs to do something to fix the queues.
But funnily enough, in this case, quitting just solves their problem for them. The more people unsub, the more the situation goes away without Blizzard having to lift a finger.
Just intentionally queueing to fill up just one more person in the queue. No intention to play tonight.

Take the transfer. If the guild was able to figure out how to coordinate to slay dragons together, i think they can figure out how to all take the free transfer together.

The absolute garbage can sliver of an experience lmao. Anyone whos played on dead servers and been stranded there for months on end will never go back. Im glad this guy is quitting not because i like when people quit, but because blizzard doesn’t deserve his money.

I got stranded on a dead server in classic after transferring cause of queues. Never doing that again. they will eventually let up and add more layers.

If enough people were to transfer they wouldn’t be “dead”. Just like when people transferred off of them to make them dead realms. Remember when people from Grobb had threads recruiting both factions because they care about their servers health? Why can’t players do that now and move to a lower pop server?
Be the change instead of complaining when a solution exists. Once again players have a solution for their own created issue, you all just wont do it for some reason. Be social and figure out a path forward.

Bad advice. Servers only die when not enough people take the transfer.

Thats exactly what a player wants! Transfer and pray you dont get stuck on a permanently dead server. Players have no control over the decisions of other players and people don’t play this game to sell server transfers to other players. You can’t figure that out ? I left whitemane for arcanite reaper and was stuck there for an absolutely unfair amount of time. And had to pay to leave. Your opinion means nothing if you haven’t experienced what a dead server is like, cause its not wow anymore.

I’m surprised some toxic streamer hasn’t figured out they could stream themselves queueing with 2000 accounts. Not like anything would happen to them

Start a transfer group or don’t. put in some effort or don’t. Players sure had a lot of other player convinced that they needed to be on a mega server and this is where they all ended up. Player movement facilitates more player movement. People on the forums claiming “X server is dead” creates movement.
There is a fix and if players were fine with xferring to a mega server for the conveniences of it I don’t see why they wouldn’t be for the conveniences of a non Q server. Player created can be player solved.
