EZ-Mode Character Customization You Could Give Us Without Sacrificing A Raid Tier

1 - Stuff that is already in the game files. Look, there’s a lot of stuff in the game files for NPCs only that could be given to players. Cultist skins, green Trolls, Undead Belves, etc. You could even give the Druid of the Flame skins to Night Elf Druids that unlocked the Druid of the Flame Cat Form.

Why leave these things to rot in the game files when you could be giving them to us?

2 - Mix things you already have together. Look at the Nightborne. They have 3 skins. But what if you take their skins to your image editing software, layer 2 of them on top of each other and set the top layer to 50% opacity? That would result in a skin tone that is in between the two previously established skins. By doing that you can easily and lazily DOUBLE the amount of skin colors the NB have!

3 - Separate anything that is needlessly bundled together. Think of the Undead. They have 3 possibilities as far as body rot customization goes. Bone, mottled and intact. But what if you separate that body rot into arm rot, leg rot, spine rot and torso rot? Then you went from 3 possibilities to 81!!! That’s not a typo. Eighty one possible combinations (up from three) just by uncoupling things needlessly bundled together.

Parity Customizations

Taking things from OG races like Tauren, Draenei, Dwarves, Gnomes, Orcs, Trolls and BE’s (To an extent) and giving their AR equivalent majority if not all of the customization’s the OG’s got with Shadowlands.

That’s majority of the AR done with just that alone. All they’d need to worry about is the Kul’Tiran’s and the Vulpera.

I didn’t include Nightborne because they just need a re-do. Like give us the actual Nightborne please, not whatever this off brand we currently have is.

This right here.

I understand not wanting to or, with the benefit of the doubt, not being able to develop new assets.

But there are indeed so many assets that could be reused for both core races that got the short end of the stick, and ARs, which some more than others are severely lacking and would benefit from inheriting assets from core races and npcs where applicable.

What’s worse is that the players are coming up with fairly impressive concepts and surpassing Blizzard in some areas, such as the Nightborne videos for example.

I’m not bitter, I’m not mad, but Blizzard should be at least willing to reuse assets more liberally and deliver on at least some customizations, which were indeed a selling point of this expansion.

All these are awesome responses. :+1:

I’d give likes, but the forum gods have deemed me unworthy to give more positivity.

i mean… skip the middle man here and just try to integrate the npc options into the night born?

Things like copying hair from Draenei to LF Draenei seems like something that there’s no good reason not to do…

Genuinely it’d be a good re-use of assets and the only thing that would need to be done is to adjust for the different hair color.

That’s pretty much the case for majority of the customization’s for every race mentioned.

Where’s. My. Black. Hair?

They could also take existing hairstyles and add slight variants on them, rather than give a completely brand new hairstyle.

For example on Blood Elf male they added a new short cropped hairstyle that has two twin braids. Remove the braids and viola! Another hairstyle.

You could also copy and paste more hairstyles between the different races.

This never made any sense to me. I literally stare down into black pools of void all over the place and yet we can’t have black hair?

Black, actual white, and I’d argue pink were pretty much needed for void elves, but haha. How many shades of silver do we need?

I swear if they just hired one furry artist a lot of worgen issues would be fixed almost instantly. ( so long as they behave )

If my worgen mage had white hair she’d look close to Loona. However I do think they have the potential, but someone above them is holding that talent back.

Especially considering how long it took them to fix the female worgen mouth

Seriously Blizz thought dogs snarled through the side of their mouth what the hell have they never seen a dog?

I am all about this. NPC options ALREADY IN THE GAME should be available to players. This is a no brainer. Either that or give us cosmetic effects that persist through death like Noggin, etc…

Okay, yea, this is what baffles me about customisation especially with the newer Allied Races.

What makes it so hard to give existing hairstyles, skin tones, eye colours and tattoos different tints?!

Any artist or modeler care to explain?
