Eye of the Jailer is TRASH

Eye of the Jailer is TRASH. Started from 0 this morning, did the dailies, did Wrath of the Jailer, turned in the 2nd daily put me at tier 5. Attempting to turn in the last daily I had in the log resulted in 2 death runs and a loss of some 800+ stygia and still unable to turn in a daily I spent a considerable amount of time on. Blizzard, what is my incentive to continue doing this content if it’s structured in such a manner that I will be severely punished for doing just what is required? And honestly dudes, how can you look the playerbase in the eye and say “hey guys, here’s a cool new zone we designed for you to enjoy, but really, you can only kill 20 mobs, and then we’re gonna punish you so severely for being here that you’ll have no choice but to leave and not enjoy the content you paid for”??? I feel robbed that I put in time to do a daily, only to be penalized for all the stygia I earned today when I try to turn it in. This is not good game design. This does not convey “DANGEROUS AREA” to anyone, it’s just a trash implementation of time gating to prevent 0.1% of the playerbase from being sweaty nolifers while severely punishing the rest of us for wanting to enjoy the zone. Put a cap on how much stygia you can earn weekly if you want to stop the sweaty ones from getting 37 sockets on week 1, not this trash system you have now. Very off-putting and not immersive.

What did you expect from WRATH of the Jailer?

My guy, Wrath of the Jailer is an event akin to world bosses that can drop a ilvl 183 piece. Don’t confuse it with Eye of the Jailer.

Should stock up on the teleport to hovel item.

You’ll have plenty of time between reaching Tier 5 to complete whatever you’re doing and teleport back to ven’ari.

I don’t see how that teleport to hovel item would help me reach the turn-in for A Monument to Vengeance if i’m starting at the hovel or at the graveyard. Like I said, I tried to make my way to turn the quest in and couldn’t reach the turn-in before the aura killed me, even when using the bears you can mount.

Well I guess it’s up to opinion on if that’s bad game design. Now the next time you go to the Maw you know you should do that quest first for the turn in.

Besides as far as just doing the dailies go, you should be able to do them all before reaching tier 5 unless you killed some rares along the way.

Blizzards mindset behind the Maw is it’s suppose to be a live and learn experience. Like Ven’ari says “Precise and Surgical is how you survive in the maw.”

I have not had any problems with this zone. You are supposed to be smart with what you are killing. I’m calling complete BS you got 5/5 after doing Wrath and both dailies because I can do the same thing and get like maybe 2/5. Rest of the time I am killing rares. You should also have the teleport to get back. This sounds more like a personal problem.

Who is living their best life in 2020?

The eye mechanic is actually a really good idea but has poor implementation. Most eye levels are very minor inconveniences, and the last two can be permanently disabled. The whole mechanic needs to be buffed, because as of right now the introduction to this new villain is not going to well when his armies are mostly limp and inept.

If you are having that much difficulty in the Maw it is because of two words.

Get Gud.
