Oh more people are having this issue? Same thing with me. My addon usage goes up to 28 mb and then 30 mb and it shows 0% installing. But since 9.1 patch my memory usage has been bad, because my FPS flops around to 23 moving and then back to 60, then back to 23 . Something happened in 9.1 that they implemented and I’m not sure what it is. It’s not the addons, because I had the same addons as before. I also tried removing them 1 by 1 to find the issue that’s not it either. I think you are right Zxane.
Edit: Just saw your memory usage. I will have to open WoW and see if it is the same. Something happened was implemented because I am having this issue since as well.

i figured since i saw no one else posting all week id start to see who else is getting this , or if anyone found a fix , hopefully its nothing our end and something client side
Same issue here and am glad to see someone mentioning it here. I too thought it might be a misbehaving addon but the issue persists with addons disabled.
Same, game has crashed multiple times due to very very high memory usage lately.
Please be aware disabling addons in the menu will not prevent them from using resources. You would need to rename the folders it pulls them from to accomplish this. An out-of-date addon is the most common reason for this to happen. Beyond that, if you’re close to the minimum requirements, you may be feeling a difference with new features added in 9.1.
Using a new wow folder completely im using 6.3gb mem, before patch i was 4.3gb.
So thats a brand new install of wow!
Are you using any addon manager that may have synced them back in?
I use Curse, however i didnt not add the new install to the new wow folder, interface addons is empty
Unfortunately, there isn’t any diagnostic data from anyone in the thread. This means any response from a tech MVP or staff is likely to be a pure guess.
On my own setup, I’m using 16GB of RAM. I’ve been on for a few hours and was on for about 3 hours earlier today, but I’m still coming in below 3GB of total usage for WoW.

The OP mentioned WoW is using 75% of their RAM but didn’t include the amount of total RAM available. If it’s 4-8GB, then that could make sense, I guess.

Post 2 is discussing addon memory usage, which Blizzard has no hand in developing or troubleshooting. The FPS issues would be a separate troubleshooting effort.
-
Post 4 & 5 didn’t mention total RAM either.
To move forward with troubleshooting I recommend either including a DxDiag or opening a ticket with Blizzard staff members. Posting DxDiags here could also become overwhelming and people may need to be separated into their own threads.
im running 16 gb ram but if this will help , this is my dxdiag file
ive tried the changing folders name to fresh reset with 0 addons its all the same
There are a lot of errors happening in the background:

I’d start by preventing all of those from loading on startup, and then manually checking for and applying Windows updates.

Thank you for the information; this is interesting and good to know. Would the reported AddOn Memory within the WoW interface (mousing over “Game Menu”) still give an accurate accounting of usage if addons are out of date and causing problems?
I have 16 GB total RAM; my addons are using less than 200 MB, and in task manager WoW is using 3.5 GB. Maybe that isn’t high? I just know my fan has been kicking on and my computer sounds stressed since 9.1. It’s a nice and new unit. I am not near minimum requirements for anything.
DxDiag doesn’t show anything that seems related to the game as a problem.
At 2/3/4 settings and only One (she. ) Add-on is at 3.9gig of 4 gig memory.
Ya my old laptop is 2011.
Most settings are turned to off or low.
So you using a little more than 4gig is on par…
I don’t know the answer to that.
Does not sound high to me at all. I also don’t really trust Task Manager on some of the data it reports.
well after a day of using it , its back to doing the same thing but usage is alot higher i really dont know what it is , im gonna go buy another 16 gb ram so dont have to bother fixing it 32 should be more then enough
Did you fix it? wonder if its oceanic only, as im having the same issue
