I have been experiencing incredibly high latency in game since the new talent system dropped, often either my home or world latency or both will shoot up into the thousands making it unplayable. It happens on any character on any realm. I have performed every troubleshooting suggestion I could find (resetting router/modem, reinstalling WoW and Battle.net client, turning off antivirus, firewall, testing my network speeds, etc.) and my home network is 100% fine - streaming video, other games and websites run fast, it’s only WoW. This has never happened before. Any ideas?

Yes my latency has been 2-3k for the last few days, thought it was because a storm almost knocked the power out here the day before I noticed it. Glad it’s not that. I was tolerating the lag but now wow wont even start for me
your problem is your connection to your router. if you’ve already done the basic troubleshooting, it’s possible that you’ll need to replace it, or ask your isp some assistance, or do more involved troubleshooting if you’ve setup any more specialized features.
If you connect via wifi it is possible that it is your wifi connection that is bad, either because you’re too far from the router, or it is blocked by too many walls, or there is some sort of interference. You can test this by hard wiring to the router and seeing if your issues are gone, or even bypassing it to hardwire right to your modem. If that solves it, then you may be able to just hardwire to fix it, or be able to fix it by doing general wifi strength troubleshooting. Though it may still need to be replaced.
Sorry - it erased my actual message. I meant to say: not to be a bother, but is there any way you could offer insight into my WinTMR report? I have no idea how to read it
yours is not nearly as bad as OP’s, but your connection to your router doesn’t seem great and you should probably try to improve that as it could be your issue. That may not be your main issue as it seems like about halfway along the route your connection gets a bit worse, but it’s a little hard to separate that out.
same question - are you connected via wifi? can you hardwire to test?
I am indeed connected via wifi, and don’t know of any way I could connect hardwire, but I’ll check it out. I really appreciate your insights - gives me a direction to go in!
Hey thanks, I appreciate the advice! It’s weird this would this would happen out of the blue, I even replaced my wifi adapter and it’s still this bad, maybe it’s the modem? I guess I have to call Comcast, ugh. I will post once I figure out the problem in case it helps anyone else, thanks again Tofflemire!
