I’m mostly playing on Sargeras and the lag problem with players from OCE realms, especially Frostmourne, is unacceptable. It basically makes doing any group content like LFR pointless after around midnight as any time there are enough OCE players the game has their server host whatever content we’re doing and it takes my ping from 23ms to ~500ms, if I’m lucky. It’s at the point where I’ll be pressing my buttons and the server processes each action twice before my character’s even gotten the first one off. Totally unplayable. I’m not paying to play like it’s 2004 and I’m on dial-up on a P3. Fix it. Either isolate these servers on their own battlegroup, change how the game juggles which data center hosts what when, or “fix the lag”.
That’s what they experience all the time.
And?

Okay, “I deserve better. To heck with those people who suffer with that all the time, it’s all about ME” is how your post reads.
Blah blah blah go soapbox for some imagined cause elsewhere. I’m talking about letting me play my game on my server which is under 30ms 95% of the time and not creating an extra problem needlessly.
You care so much about those people who suffer? I don’t see you taking a cargo ship out to sea with a spool of cable and laying down fiber. Begone troll. 0/10
As a player from OCE realms, also don’t want to group with you guys. When we use LFG, we kick out guys from Sargeras all the time.
Lol
Yep. I don’t ever invite anyone from Frostmourne to any of my pugs. You guys are de facto banned.
Tantrum aside, I really wish Blizz would give a region checkbox so that I can check/uncheck which region I want to play with like what they do with FF14. People still end up selecting every region for faster queue times, but now it comes with the conscious awareness that you accept the risks.
I don’t particularly care about lag having already adjusted my playstyle at 200ms when playing with NA players, but it’d be a nice feature to have to avoid people like the OP.
You’re actually mental if you think I’m somehow the bad guy here.
I’m just having fun roasting you, it’s not meant to be an insult. It’s an OCE thing
Slow lag, eternal darkness. Why oce doesn’t need to be horde to be edgy. Lag and never seeing the sun changes a person… Makes good alliance get dark even…lol
Why I went us servers. Ping was alway 20 better at least…so MG and WRA became home.
Even classic/tbcc like this. I make out better hitting US servers. And that doesn’t have crz/sharding.
Another reason why I don’t play with any of you totally separate from the real issue.
Nothing like the mix of not knowing and not caring what are the actual reasons of things.
It makes for good jokes.
And better yet, is to take a look at the history of topics in said mix. It is priceless.
Okay I’m sorry, let me grab some ice-cream. Do you like vanilla or chocolate?
this is nothing new… when the party leader is from oceanic and you’re from anywhere else (mainly united states), you will lag. you’re on their servers. just deal with it.
I never had issues with them.
Area a52 and illidan…have yet to figure out why some bad apples there pick on frostmourne so much. Some idiots don’t see the Bart, nag and cael to know they are oce. They just bust frostmourne’s chops.
Ah, how quaint that people think “battlegroups” still exist
There is, and has always been since the Oceanic servers arrived, a weird thing with instances. I’ve experienced it from here in Australia as well. You’re connected to a group on the west coast US server, and latency should be 150ms or so, yet the lag seems far worse than that, and what’s described above can happen routinely.
I do wonder whether it’s a fundamental problem with the back-end code that communicates between servers in different countries - whether, for example, my press of the “1” key might have to travel to California, THEN travel all the way back to Sydney to get processed by the server I’m on, then get sent back to California again.
Or we could demand a better quality of service and have the developer who works for us fix it. Yeah I like that solution better instead of arguing against my own self-interest.
I agree, I don’t know why the developers chose to put different regions together but they did. If I had to guess it’s because the game is not as popular in those regions so they need NA to survive. Doubt it will change anytime soon.
My best and obvious advice is just to not group with oceanic when you can. sometimes it’s out of your control and that sucks.
Because when they were all apart, people complained they had no one to play with in their own region. That one is simple.
