All week I have been having this extremely weird lag where, if I’m in a group or raid, the first maybe 5 seconds will play normally, and then I’ll start lagging and my entire game world will turn into a sea of people walking in place, spells take 30-60 seconds to cast, and massive, massive delays on what’s happening with the game. Meanwhile, chat seems fine and responsive.
Example: I’m in an Arathi Warfront that’s been over for about 3 minutes now, which I know because the sound effect played when it ended and then my next queue popped, but I’m still standing outside the walls of the enemy keep and on my screen none of the other players have gone inside. It’s like being in a timewarp. (Update: after about 5 minutes I got disconnected without ever being removed from the Warfront or being notified by the UI that it was over).
The game is completely unplayable like this. My FPS is a steady 60+ and my latency says it’s at 50-70.
I have tried deleting my cache, removing my WTF folder and all addons, adjusting my network settings, updating network drivers and router firmware… nothing has made a difference. I have Cincinnati Bell as an internet provider and have no problems with any other game or online service. Speed results report ~130 mbps.
