The implication was there.
Very few times have I seen the request for cod elf options focused on void elf themselves. Itâs always followed by the colors that blood elves have.
I mean even the last update for them have them skin like a blood elf.
It always comes back to the alliance wanting high elves.
In WoW, races are defined by aesthetics, and not much else. HMT are different than regular tauren. Why? Antlers instead of horns. LFD are different than draenei. Why? Lighter skin and some tattoos / eye color changes.
Adding more âneutralâ options and giving void elves blood elf options completely dilutes faction identity. Just like if the nightborne had received the same stances / customization options as night elves would have. And as I said earlier, I would be much less annoyed, and much more open if something so small as a minor model edit had happened. But it didnât.
Weâll have to agree to disagree, and move on. I cannot see eye to eye with you on this subject.
Leaving it open ended I would say is thinly veiled yeah, but even ignoring that because its open ended and people have come in to ask for options people oppose, opposition to those options mentioned are still on topic.
What? Are you kidding me right now?
What is a void elf without void?
Of course itâs their identity, or theyâd be blood elves.
Holy crow.
Who gives a turkey about faction identity? Itâs racial identity in this case.
If they remove factions, this whole debate goes away. Youâll have blood elves in the alliance cities.
So this is purely racial identity. Void elves should be void, period.
The concept of neutral looks in this case does nothing except pull away from blood elves, as they are the only other source of racial identity for these particular elves.
Not jumping on them. Weâve both been around these forums a lot. I see how this goes. Suggestions for pastel hair options, Azshara like eyes, other tentaclee options get ignored.
Anyways the most important take is the classes with the least should get customizations the next round (whenever that is). Tons already play Thalassian elves. They need to make some of the other races more varied and attractive.
You are if your only request is blood elf coloring rather than sticking to the theme of a void elf.
Void elves should only have void themes if they get anything more.
Friendly Lore Reminder! If you Google âwow how blood elves become void elves.â This comes up below, which is true. You can Google other phrases and still see the article.
âTheir origins lie with a group of blood elves led by Magister Umbric who were exiled from Silvermoon City because of their research into the Void. They were transformed by void ethereals but rescued by Alleria Windrunner, who had gained mastery of the Void herself on Argus.â
~Wowpedia
Thereâs a whole article about the history of void elves, Alleriaâs journeys/adventures, and how she as well as other blood elves have been shunned and exiled. I definitely see the Blood-Elves-Shunning-Blood-Elves-Turned-Void-Elves theme going on in this thread and every thread asking for more hair colors. Thats staying true to lore, LOL.
The article is a very interesting read about Alleria and void elves. I enjoyed it again, having read it before. I suggest a read through, at least one, for everyone who hasnât already.
For me and Iâm well aware no one cares at all unless its to attack me and my I statements, I dont care about high elves. Blood elves were high elves. I care about visual appearance options for players. And of course more options for Nightborne. I really canât suggest any options for Nightborne because my default choice is pink hair . I use pink hair on my velves. Humans should have pink hair. Thank the Light! trolls have pink hair! Worgen pink fur! But thats too far out of lore lol. (The worgen part is a JOKE in case some dont realize. Iâm well aware Iâll still attacked or jumped anyways.)
Im going to visit Telogrus later on snd a few other places so I can see for myself what the Devs added to the velf NPCs.
I donât think theyâve touched Telogrus since they made it.
Last I checked, the High Elf Wayfarers still have Death Knight eyes, even after they changed the Death Knight eyes to be more painfully obviously Lich King magic.
Edit:
Yep. Hereâs a screenshot from today. They still have Death Knight eyes.
You can still wield the void without being purpleâŚ
Does this mean that blood elves need to be dripping with blood and have red skin because of the word âbloodâ in their name?
We can simply disagree and move on, youâre free to feel that void elves should be strictly purple. I donât share that feeling.
Because you donât argue in good faith.
Youâre extremely good at being fake and pretentious though, Iâll give you that.
âHigh elves and blood elves imbued with void have transformed themselves into [void elves], under the tutelage of [Alleria Windrunner] and her teacher, [Locus-Walker], the two known mortals who were able to successfully defy the Voidâs whispers and truly resist its corruption while wielding its powers. These renâdorei, the âChildren of the Voidâ have established a base at [Telogrus Rift], and much like Alleria herself, have re-pledged themselves to their original faction, the [Alliance].â
I seem to recall Umbric looking for a way to recruit void elves by replicating the ritual as well without destroying the high elves or blood elves involved.
