Extra Action Bar Addon?

Is there any simple addon that lets me keep the Blizzard UI, but just gives me another bar I can move?

I tried Domino and Bartender and it requires completely redesigning to get back to the basic. I just want to plop another bar on top of my existing second layer where I can easily put my Pots and HS on for all my characters. As of now, the position of them are sparatic to whatever opening I have. I want to put them all in the same spot on my account.

I installed it, and messed around due to your suggestion. It isn’t exactly what I am looking for. It seems to have all presets to it. All I want is something like Bartender, in which it gives you addition action bars I can drag things too, without it resetting my entire UI as I use SUI for my account and I like the dark theme.

It is a simple ask, there has to be something out there. I am just not one who uses many addons so I cannot seem to find it.

Maybe something like:

or you can look for something in the bars category at WoWI and CurseForge

For myself I just use Bartender (in a layout similar to default) and have bar 6 enabled so I have an entire extra 12 slots of freedom.

My settings are here:
http://clanyawa.com/downloads/Bartender4.lua

Slap it in your World of Warcraft\_retail_\WTF\Account\[ACCOUNT NAME]\SavedVariables folder, load up the game, select the Default Profile in the addon settings and you’re good to go.

Button Forge may do what you want.

You may also want to look into OPie. While it’s not extra action bars, it’s a nice choice for stuff you want easy access to, but without extra screen clutter.

Absolutely LOVE Button Forge with SUI. Unfortunately, Button Forge is now broken in 9.0.1, and I’m looking for something near identical to it.

Button Forge has been forked and is being maintained on GitHub.

Oh. My. God. Thank you! You have no idea how happy I am to know this. I’ve had an absolute terrible experience with the add on called Neuron, which is kinda like SUI and Button Forge into one . . . But complicated.

Happy I could help!

I was editing it myself to keep it running on my system - I was so happy to find it on GitHub. I’ve been using this version for a couple of years now, it’s been working well.

Like you I just wanted something simple to add more bars/spaces. Most of the UI addons are overkill for me. I use it with my personal-use addon, which I packaged up a few years ago to help someone from the forums: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/sneekee-mods

It’s a shame they don’t put this new version on Curseforge for themselves. Until prepatch for Shadowlands, I’ve never heard of GitHub before.

How do I submit a bug to this add-on now? Whenever I put a bar on top of another bar (I have them set to be spec-specific hidden/shown) the ability stops working, there’s not even a tooltip coming up for it, and it’s only when the bars are overlapping

There doesn’t appear to be an issue queue for it.

I don’t know if ‘xfsbill’ is the author of the GitHub fork or just helping people out, but you can try posting a message for him on the CurseForge page or sending him a message there. You’ll see messages from him in the comments section: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/button-forge

I’ve never used that functionality so I never had those issues. Good luck!

I just tried this and it worked perfectly for me. I created 3 bars, set them to be visible for each spec, stacked them and then added spells. Tooltips displayed correctly and spells worked correctly for each spec.

Were you using old bars you already had or did you try making new ones?

I tried it both ways, with old bars from before and with creating new ones. Oddly, it’s bugging exclusively on my hunter, no other character.

That is strange, because I tested it on my hunter and it worked fine.

If you tell me your layer order and which spells, I can try to reproduce.

The layer order was BM first, then MM under that. BM was active. Trying to put Concussive Shot, Counter Shot, Stomp and Disengage on the bar, no tooltips were showing up and nothing happened when I pushed them. When I switched specs to MM, all those same buttons worked (save for Stomp, because . . . MM).

Stomp is a passive talent now that is tied to Barbed Shot. Have you tried it without Stomp on the bar? Without Stomp it works fine for me.

It’s not stomp, that’s just what I remember it does. it causes your pet to stomp the ground and interrupt. My hunter is an alt, so I don’t always remember the exact names of abilities.

I was unable to reproduce it using the spells and layer order that you provided. Have you tried it with just 1 spell that you know works correctly?

Beyond that, I would ask if you removed the old version or just installed on top of it. It’s been a few years since I switched, but I believe that I removed the old one first and started from scratch. Make a backup if you try this of both Interface and WTF so you don’t lose your settings if it doesn’t help.

Other than that, your best bet is probably to try and reach the author. Since I can’t reproduce it, and you’re only having the issue one on character, I’m wondering if something isn’t wrong in your addon or settings files. (Have you tried on more than one hunter?)
