I’m trying to extend the range at which nameplates become visible, but I’m having trouble. Right now it’s at like, 20 yards. I’ve tried using the below script, which worked back in vanilla, but no dice.
/run SetCVar(“nameplateMaxDistance”, 40)
This isn’t an issue in retail, just classic. Can anyone help?

I made a topic about this the other day in the bug forum OP and didnt get a blue answer (doubt we will) Cvars cant be modified in Classic? - #4 by Dunkhammer-emerald-dream
I really hope this is something that was unintentional from Blizzard part and they let us change the distance in a next update.
It was 100% intentional and feels like a watered down vanilla experience. If you are going to integrate single click auto loot in game options, mine as revert nameplate visibility.
I feel you dude, it really sucks and personally it would make my experiencei 20000% better if i could just have something like 40 yards nameplates.
I agree, it would improve my experience so much - due to my screen/settings, it can be hard to click a mob that’s far away and I usually end up clicking a different one by mistake (especially in dungeons) and either causing problems or dying. Really hope they revert the change
