Extended Queues Expected on Select Realms (Updated Aug 20)

There is absolutely no way in hell that 3 layers per server (or anywhere within throwing distance of that number) is enough to accommodate the number of people that would be the “tourist” crowd.

Blizzard has only ever talked about layering in terms of scaling up to fit more players into the game. If layering isn’t infinite, there’s almost zero reason for it to exist.

Don’t worry. You’ll get in just in time for the AQ opening.

Correct - but their references has always been limited to cover phase 1 only

The fact that they say there will be queues almost confirms that Layering will be capped.

I decided to put my rogue on 3 servers in case it is a long queue time. Whitemane, Fairbanks and Faerlina. Just in case. Im hoping lots of people ditch whitemane, so i can stay without crazy queues.

Not sure why you think that.

Imagine a high pop vanilla server. Now imagine every one of them starting at level 1 at the same time. THAT is why layering exists.

Its’ purpose is not to make “mega servers” - it’s to adjust for the initial influx of players.

Vanilla had growth over time… Classic will have full population right at the start and decline.

I deleted one of my whitemane characters and took a name on fairbanks just in case. You would think blizzard would learn from thier mistakes, they should of locked the servers the moment they were full so people would move to the other servers. Definition of Gluttony = blizzard!

Blizzard employee #1 says: We can fit one more guy!
Blizzard employee #2 yelling: YOU SAID THAT ALREADY 5000 PEOPLE AGO!!!
Blizzard employee #1 says: Meh! who’s really counting anyway.

Yeah! ^______^ FOR THE GROBSQUAD!!!

Title of the thread is making me laugh… So let me get this strait … Q times are expected … ? So why then didn’t you start with more servers …

They added two more servers. People didn’t move.

People claim to want more servers. But what they really want is people to leave the highest population server so they can have lower ques themselves.

Players are predictable. The largest number bandwagons on the most popular thing. Nevermind that even a “medium” pop server in this version of the game will have several times more players then the maximum 3500 allowed in Original WoW.

Until the game actually launches and people face 12+ hour ques. They will stick it out… you know… just in case it aint that bad.

The smart guilds who actually want to progress and get world firsts have already left. They just are not saying publicly where they are really going to prevent the zerg following.

I hope this doesn’t ruin my experience. I am on Herod and sticking it out with my guild. It was roughly 10-11k que consistently that I saw which could mean wayyy tooo many people there.

Dont you think maybe, just maybe, i posted before they announced it?

Called it! Read my EXCITING SERVER DEMOGRAPHIC FANFICTION!

Sort of. I figured there’d be three, but Grob isn’t so bloated as to be problematic, yet.

They already did. Check the pinned posts here in the Classic forums, they said they opened another PvP EST server yesterday at 5pm, to relieve the pressure that’s on the servers (especially the Herod server).

East coast servers are housed in Chicago.

As a Player since Beta 2004 and Original Release…

I know EVERY Server will be full because you simply do not have enough and are seriously underestimating the Population.

You can’t tell People to go to “other” servers because then those All-Ready Full Servers will have even larger Queues.

The Decision to not open more Servers is going to bite you guys in the Butts.
No amount of Layering is going to help it.

Wait, I thought classic was releasing on the 27th? now you’re saying the 26th?

So we lose our names now because when we made them we didn’t have this information. Sounds fair.

Maybe you should have opened up more servers right after these ones hit that threshold that queue times would be occurring.

Well All I can say to Blizzard is : You should have planned ahead. If my Paid play time is sitting in an extended que for doing what you said we needed to do then your game is not worth hanging around for. Why do the paying customer always have to suffer for bad planning on a company level. I already had my Vanilla experience Long ago. I can live without your mess this time.

Exactly… it’s a marathon not a sprint
