There is absolutely no way in hell that 3 layers per server (or anywhere within throwing distance of that number) is enough to accommodate the number of people that would be the “tourist” crowd.
Blizzard has only ever talked about layering in terms of scaling up to fit more players into the game. If layering isn’t infinite, there’s almost zero reason for it to exist.
I decided to put my rogue on 3 servers in case it is a long queue time. Whitemane, Fairbanks and Faerlina. Just in case. Im hoping lots of people ditch whitemane, so i can stay without crazy queues.
I deleted one of my whitemane characters and took a name on fairbanks just in case. You would think blizzard would learn from thier mistakes, they should of locked the servers the moment they were full so people would move to the other servers. Definition of Gluttony = blizzard!
Blizzard employee #1 says: We can fit one more guy!
Blizzard employee #2 yelling: YOU SAID THAT ALREADY 5000 PEOPLE AGO!!!
Blizzard employee #1 says: Meh! who’s really counting anyway.
People claim to want more servers. But what they really want is people to leave the highest population server so they can have lower ques themselves.
Players are predictable. The largest number bandwagons on the most popular thing. Nevermind that even a “medium” pop server in this version of the game will have several times more players then the maximum 3500 allowed in Original WoW.
Until the game actually launches and people face 12+ hour ques. They will stick it out… you know… just in case it aint that bad.
The smart guilds who actually want to progress and get world firsts have already left. They just are not saying publicly where they are really going to prevent the zerg following.
I hope this doesn’t ruin my experience. I am on Herod and sticking it out with my guild. It was roughly 10-11k que consistently that I saw which could mean wayyy tooo many people there.
They already did. Check the pinned posts here in the Classic forums, they said they opened another PvP EST server yesterday at 5pm, to relieve the pressure that’s on the servers (especially the Herod server).
Well All I can say to Blizzard is : You should have planned ahead. If my Paid play time is sitting in an extended que for doing what you said we needed to do then your game is not worth hanging around for. Why do the paying customer always have to suffer for bad planning on a company level. I already had my Vanilla experience Long ago. I can live without your mess this time.
