The best part about time-gating the patch implementation over several weeks is that you have that many more weeks of patch related downtime issues instead of just routine weekly maintenance.

Is anyone really shocked? this is a weekly deal. Been waiting for 3 days to play for 30 mins before work and here we are, another day I cannot play.

For those out of the loop, because Blizzard feels no need to compensate for maintenance anymore (thanks white knights) and because the servers actually running costs money, they’re just pushing what they can get away with.

“Steal” an extra hour or two from every subscribed player every week, 4+ hours in a month, from several million people all with the servers sitting idle.

If you assume they have 7 million subs, Blizzard saves roughly 600k per month doing this (needlessly extended maintenance). That’s not negligible.

Not shocked at all. Not even a little

The best part is the time gating is for content that is 6 years old and unchanged.

Anyone who plans their life around maintenance days needs to ___________.

Fill in the blank yourself.

Of course they don’t feel the so called need.

It’s literally cents. It would be a waste and cost more to hit everyone with less than 40 cents.

Last week it was up early.

You will survive. Most people are at work anyway in the US.

Wait an hour before getting their fix? My man, I work from home, I work for 20 minutes then hop on the game, I could touch grass, but its raining outside lol

That was last week.

Been around long enough you’d know it’s not always on time, it’s extended, early, roll the dice every week for the next surprise.

And the best one is the rare blue moon says maintence and then doesn’t happen at all.Rare but has happened.

Not gonna melt too bad from the rain. Take a chance, make the plunge. All will be well.

Blizzard rarely compensated for downtime and that was only in egregious circumstances. So what are you on about?

Wow, I sure am glad we got an extended downtime so that they could… prep servers for the timegated content we should’ve got last week.

Whatever, I’ll just go grab lunch early.

It’s very difficult to recycle content…

Yeah. Back in the days of “Were sorry we were down for half a week”. Extremely rare beyond that.

Again it’s going to cost more and will be a waste for them to even remotely comp for 1 hour extension of maintence.

You must be hurting for that less than 50 cents .
