Extend the prepatch duration

Prepatch was supposed to be a time of excitement, letting the impending dark portal countdown slowly tick away as the armies of azeroth begin to prepare its assault on Outlands. Instead, it feels forcefully rushed(by some Activision-blizzard exec no doubt) and riddled with anxiety, instead of hype building fuel to bring back old friends.

For those of us who would be starting a journey fresh, we were overjoyed when it was announced Draenei and Blood elf leveling would start prior to TBC launch, so that we could level and gear up so we would not be weeks behind our friends. We have prepared gear sheets of Naxx/AQ40 gear, created dungeon groups for TBC, and all for naught.

Blizzard has reneged on its statement, once again. How is it possible for them to make a 15 year old game announcement feel rushed? I’m not sure, but they managed it in order to meet quarterly projections. It’s almost too late to fix this, but it IS fixable. Delay the launch and give us at LEAST 1 month of prepatch, it’s what your players need and expect.

Agree I was hoping for a month to prep and begin playing by making a belf. I know I wouldnt be anywhere near ready before release anyway, so this is just further disappointment tbh.

For those of us who want to create a space goat there might not be the time to enjoy the vanilla content with tbc prepatch abilities. Buying carries might be the only way and as such we can see that aside from marshal gear everything will be limited time wise. If i were anyone I would wait for level 60/59 and do pvp so you are well equiped for dungeon groups.

Or make Prepatch next week, and at least let us have it for 3 weeks if anything

This would be better obviously, but if it’s a sub 4 weeks i’d rather they just let us boost to be honest.

Absolutely! I understand they want TBC out ASAP, but at least extend pre-patch by a week to give us 3 weeks. For a good leveler doing quests and dungeons you would have to play about 8 hours a day to level to 60 in 2 weeks. That’s insane!

I can boost with my main, but not everyone has two accounts and I would way rather experience the game and my new character than sit in a dungeon with my guildies while I, yet again, grind stockades on my paladin.

Give us this small concession, so we can experience a little of the soul of the game.

the sooner the better, prepatch isn’t all that. if it was up to me, it would be 1 week short or less.

Agree 100% (July 1 Launch would be perfect)

The reality is that a “normal player” with a job or other real life commitments that can not no-life in game will be forced to buy dungeon boosts to hit 60 within 2 weeks.

Increased demand for the 2 weeks of prepatch on mages providing boosting services for all the BE’s that can not boost to 58. (Higher demand)
Added complexity and increased time it takes for a mage to “one pull” a dungeon due to AOE caps will reduce the number of mages available. (Lower Supply)

Prices for dungeon boosts will climb like crazy.

Have a look at the gold sellers… like reading the betting odds before an election they have a fair idea of what will happen. Its a bit of a crystal ball.

We were trying to work how much gold a token in classic would probably give if implemented and I remember seeing that a site was selling 1000g for roughly $40AUD it has now increased to $50AUD. This leads me to think that even to buy some mage boosts with the gold I have saved it will not go very far… :frowning:

Blizzard has really screwed the players on this one options out I see are:

  1. Blizzard delay portal opening to 1st of July giving the players 6 weeks to level and BG etc… (unlikely but my preferred)
  2. Blizzard allow BE’s to be boosted with the blizzard paid service (unlikely)
  3. Blizzard don’t ban people who decide to pay hundreds of real dollars for gold to do in-game boosts (LOL This is NOT going to happen…)
  4. Blizzard start selling tokens in game so we can pay them money to fix the problem they have created… (possible)

I really can’t express how angry I am with this in words…

I hope Blizzard considers this considering the launch fiasco

I’m shocked. You all are asking blizzard to NOT launch TBC. Like why? So you can level a pally or shaman? Meh. This is the most insane gamers ever asking to not get an xpac. Cancel pre-patch and Just launch tbc

Please don’t listen to these people Blizzard. Only a handful of sad people spamming the forums care about a longer prepatch. Most of us just want to play the game.
