Extend Double XP

What the title says. The coronavirus crisis is one of the main reasons the double XP buff was put on (or at least the wording of the blog post suggested so) and the crisis isn’t calming down yet - Restrictions are still very much in place around the world.

Double XP would be good for the game at this point in time, as well. With all of the Shadowlands info dropped recently, people are more likely to be leveling alts in preparation for the changes and goodies coming in Shadowlands. Focus on alts has usually been utilized as a way to keep people interested and playing during the downtime between the last patch of an expansion and a new expansion, so having double XP continue forward for, say, a month would likely keep people playing, as well as give more people a chance to take advantage of it (in the USA at least) since stimulus checks are starting to come in.

Pretty sure most people would really like having double XP extended, it should definitely be something considered by the devs.

Keep it up till the leveling changes are out with the prepatch imo. Or at least till quarantine ends for the most part. I don’t know anyone particularly against this idea, but I’ve seen some people saying it was generous in the first place so we should just be happy with what we got.

Edit: I could finally not be lazy and level one of each class to max for when Shadowlands is out plus maybe some more for customization since I’m an altoholic.

I agree.

The longer it stays active, the more people will stick around to play. More people playing WoW means less people outside.

Honestly. This is the only reason I’m leveling my warrior vulpera to 120. Otherwise I wouldn’t really play wow BFA atm.

Blizzard.

I am once again asking you to increase/extend the XP buff.

Agreed. I subbed yesterday so I could level some alts this week.

Would be really cool if they extended the double exp buff. Otherwise I don’t intend to renew my sub when it ends…

Keep it until Shadowlands.

Absolutely no reason to get rid of it.

I don’t see the point of doubling the leveling speed, then reducing it, only to make it faster in shadowlands again.
Might as well implement the change once and for all until shadowlands hits

Yeah, unless they really wanted to boost revenue from returning subs for the Q1 financial period, keeping it going makes sense.

Which means they will stop it on Monday.

Yea true sometimes I forget $ is the motive and live in a world where the players experience is Blizz #1 priority. :sleepy: let me dream

Realistically I feel like they’d lose more money than they’d gain by getting rid of the buff. If they keep it going into May, they’re more likely to retain subs an extra month. Otherwise there’s probably a decent amount of people that will simply not re-sub in May because leveling is slow again.

Sometimes both goals can align. There aren’t a lot of people complaining about the bonus. TBH, I expected a lot more “double xp is a slap in the face,” or “double xp is ruining the game,” posts.

So, we get to level faster and Activision gets a bump for their quarterly results.

There’s been a couple posts where people have said “Why do you have to speed up leveling I want it slow” but they’ve been few and far between.

As much as I hate to generalize things, if people want a slow journey-like leveling experience, Classic exists for a reason.

I also think we will get 9.0 around August. The setup novel typically predates the .0 patch by about a month. Before the Storm came out 1 month before 8.0; Illidan 2 months. The .0 patch is usually in June/July.

Now, party due to COVID and some other things, it feels like they are about a month off from their normal schedule, so I am thinking mid-August we will see 9.0

I see no problem in asking if it can be extended and it was nice of them to even give us this.
Maybe they will feel like they have crapped on us with some of there terrible ideas and extend it

I’m hoping its that early! I have a feeling were not going to see it mid to late Sept. with everything going on right now.

Also, take heirlooms off and don’t grind. even in retail, if you strictly level through quests that YOU want to do, it takes muchhh longer than someone using a guide or AAP.

Yeah.

We will see if they push the book out. I think it got pushed once already, so if they move it again we know 9.0 is about a month after that.

That said, other than some tuning and setting up Chromie, 9.0 isn’t that complicated.

Someone on reddit posted that the alpha usually starts 6 months before the pre-patch, so August-September sounds about right.

This XP buff is what keeping me playing. I only leveled one character to max level but with this buff, I finished 2 more and working on a 3rd.

There should be nothing against extending this.

SPECIALLY during this time.

It would be very nice also extending this buff in other ways, such as rep as well with 50%.
