I think he bought like 10k gold worth of Tidespray Linen, made nothing but bracers, DE’d all the blue procs, and spent like a half hour or more loading bracers nine at a time into the scrapper. He automated the process with addons as much as is allowed within the TOS, but even so, he had to seriously speed up the video to show off the process in a reasonable amount of time.
Material conversion “shuffles” are not always a bad thing in WoW, people have fun creating spreadsheets, working out operations that aren’t as fire and forget as a TSM profession setup. BfA seriously botched things with how many dull pointless interactions it took to get a reasonable amount of expulsom.
Ah it’s not efficient. Also you get the same amount if you’re scrapping azerite or just greens and blues. You can’t craft azerite peices - only normal stuff. Getting Azerite would mean I’d have to farm dungeons, bgs, visions, raids…and hope. And that’s a lot more time than I’ve already sunk into this, I don’t need to sink more.
I made my Long Boi primary through Expulsom shuffling and selling Uncanny Gear.
I would spend 100k on Tidespray and scrap bracers for like 5 hours straight to setup for a weekend and have to do that every other day or run out of inventory.
I hate to be “that guy” but there needs to be some sort of barrier to entry for professions to be profitable. I guess this was that when all the recipes are given to us on the trainers.
Bring back reputation recipes, world drop recipes etc. I’d rather grind out a recipe or invest a lot of gold into it than grind the materials everyday for hours to keep enough stock.
Hold on, that was actually brilliant. Rep grinding isn’t really that bad - and it can even be fun for lore hogs like me! And grinding a couple mobs to find a recipe - gods I remember going for that secret artifact appearance on my ret pally - I spent a week in that demon place just grinding away while listening to podcasts.
Like…that can be fun.
Doing this? This wasn’t fun.
Fired? They got some guy to spend hours and hours scrapping items for a 3-5% return rate on an item. And do it repeatedly.
Fired, you say? Nah, that guy’s a project lead somewhere at blizzard. Wields his frostmourne with an Activision stamp on it that shoots fake 20 dollar bills out to motivate the devs on his team to work harder.
The funniest part is that they absolutely lucked into Legion’s success, and have no idea WHY the playerbase liked it so much. Complete lightning in a bottle.
As en enchanter I hate the scrapper cause I like achievements but I also want echnathing material so literally got 500 bracers made for me to scrap. I also hate expulsom as I have almost no need for it… but why wasn’t it made trade able for materials like blood of sageras was?
It’s because bracers and such have a tiny percent chance of giving Expulsom. Trinkets have a very high chance (near 100%) of giving Expulsom though. You kinda hurt yourself on this one.
I hated that scrap system so much. The only thing that made getting non-upgrades even more insulting was when you would try and get rid of it and you were told you had to take it to another vendor to turn it into a real trash that you could get rid of.
