Hey, your friendly neighborhood 2681 IO Pug Healer here wanting to clarify something for the pug community in order to save people’s keys.
When a high profile account make a blanket statement, context is still important. I actually agree with them that Explosives should be the healers job MOST weeks and i absolutely dislike the whole “healers have it too hard” moaning that’s been going on here since DF.
Yet i feel there’s 2 exceptions to this, hence the lack of context in their tweet. Weeks of Fortified + Explosive + Bursting (like this week) and Fortified + Explosive + Grievous.
You need to help healers in these scenarios, cause even if they have the processing power to handle literally all of these weeks affix on their own, this game is GCD capped, so on large pulls keeping you alive while mashing explosives is literally impossible, even moreso in keys where trash throws around painful unavoidable debuffs, like in Nokhud for example.
Being stubborn about this or simply blindly following a 2 years old tweet without any kind of thought will brick your keys, and that’s going to be on you, not your healer.
If you want to get carried that badly by your healer, please pay him.

Should be a bm hunters job as well…just leave your pets busy dpsing trash and pew pew the explosives…I know that’s what I do

Anyone with instants can and should help. Classes like Lock, Mage and Spriests are the ones im ok with them slacking on it.

Fort weeks are easier than tyran weeks with explosives because mechanics just kill people on fort and for the ones that don’t outright kill you, there is no difference between 10% hp and 30% you still gotta top em off or the next mechanic kills them anyways.
Bursting is a non existent affix 95%+ of the pull so with bursting it doesn’t matter until the very last second of pull.
Grievous yeah, you need the gcds on some pulls to drop stacks.
Ok spriests are very good at killing explosives. Shadow word pain is instant and you don’t even have to be facing the orb. It’s like the best ability in the game for killing orbs.
I guess i see the logic, you do larger pulls on Tyrannical so there’s more explosives to manage.
But at the same time if a single one slips through atm its game over.
I play in pugs so we stagger it so its constant healing that i need to manage. Yeah in organised groups that coordinate cds this is true though. I need a pocket Spriest fren.
Well that’s good to know, haven’t played Priest in ages, didn’t think SW:P worked on them.
