I get what you’re trying to say, but in reality it would hardly ever turn out. I think you’re fantasising about a very specific scenario that will be a once or twice in a day occurance lol. Sniping crap players yeah that will work or afk players. But anyone with a brain will destroy you without your pet.
sure as soon as autoshot starts glancing dodging and parrying. til then hunters only need adjusting downwards.
It depends on the target. Most classes won’t last long enough to put up much of a fight, but Paladins and some Warlocks can be a serious issue. I don’t mess with them unless they’re fighting someone else. As for playing out an imaginary scenario, that’s all up to the player being smart enough to work with the situation at hand. Like I said, I don’t attack until I see and opening.
Additionally, I always used potions and engineering to assist me. Back in the original days of WoW, I found this very successful, I don’t see why it won’t work here.
Lol shush blizzards golden boy.
I’ve always wanted to be that NE Hunter ambushing people. I used to watch videos of people doing that as a kid lmao. If they buffed LW I’d probably demote my pally and main my Hunter, I ended up going Dwarf tho as I wanted to try something new.
It’s a very different time. Like I said earlier meld never use to break until aimed shot went out and aimed shot use to hit like a truck with a slow good weapon. I use to 1 shot clothies from stealth with xbow of smiting before they did the meld nerf and normalised aimed shot damage.
People need to quit crying and play the game.
Yeah lil bro we know
Ok then, lets nerf divine storm into the ground lets make it single target but do the same damage as concercrate. Oh and also share a cooldown with your class defining ability
I played ret since launch. Wouldn’t bother me.

I totally get that. That’s what I’m doing right now. Prepping a Dwarf survival hunter. That’s probably what got me so annoyed about Explosive Shot being so trash. I have some ideas though, and I think it’ll be good.

That is true. I remember those good old days. I didn’t even have a pet. My brother was my pet as his druid lol. I’d let him move in on them and then I’d light them up while he had them tied down. So effective.
That being said, I just don’t like relying on dumb pets to get the job done. At least not until they can go berserk. That’s when I’ll be worried about them. For now, I’m gonna keep upgrading and getting those shots as strong as I can get them. That and working on a new dwarf hunter with a different strategy.

Says the Paladin lol. I don’t know if you play one in Discovery, but they’re pretty ridiculous right now.

I’ve been ret since 2007. I don’t care about damage. I just have fun playing the class.
Arcturus quit pretending like you play hunter lmao. Your sniping fantasy is laughably naive, and very telling.

Fair. That’s like me with Survival Hunter and Fire Mage. Just saying, Paladins have it pretty easy right now.
Personally, I like having options when it comes to specs, not cookie cutter garbage because some moves are pure broken. In the case of Explosive Shot, we’re losing two good spells for the price of garbage. It’s weak, and it removes other abilities, so yeah, I’m giving Blizzard a little smoke over that. I’d appreciate them putting some thought into it.

Says the DK…lol. At level 25, it’s very real. I used to do this all the time back in vanilla. It’s different now, but not that different. Again, it depends on the class.
rets still miles better than it was in vanilla. so are hunters. the only time hunters need love is 60.

Yeah, Paladin was more of a hybrid class back then. Ret was just leaning into dps a little more, but wasn’t overly great. I usually did a Holy Ret mix.
In regards to hunters, I eventually found that I wasn’t satisfied with sniping alone. A lot went wrong when I didn’t have a good team. I switched to Survival and never looked back. Been doing that since before AQ.

You didn’t read my reply. I’m not looking at this from a PvE dps carebear perspective. I’m more interested in what kills players. Sniping is awesome.
You think 15% more damage is better than a pet on a player? Also you realize 5% crit and 20% stat boost is fairly big and still lets you have your pet?

It’s like I said several times, the pet is easily dealt with. Right now they don’t even have the immunity to cc, so they can’t do squat to me. You’re thinking on PvE terms. I’m not worried about some mindless pet I can put on ice while I torpedo his master into the stone age.
Someone else made a comment about Heart of the Lion being stronger than Lone Wolf, completely forgetting that it takes off Aspect of the Hawk. Stacking Lone Wolf’s 15% plus Hawk, is definitely more powerful. It’s a glass cannon strategy, but totally effective with Night Elf abilities.
Getting 10% crit from Sniper Training, plus Markman talents is 15% right out the gate. I was even considering getting another 5% with Master Marksman. That’s crazy ambush potential.
I am thinking you are not playing SoD or at least a hunter in SoD.
You know we’re talking about a hypothetical situation right? Iïïl brought up the idea of Lone Wolf requiring a massive upgrade, so I’m talking about that. It already gives a solid chunk of burst damage, but say they upped it to 25 or 30%. I’d be torpedoing people back into the stone age.
