I am wondering if you should use Implode while Demonic Tyrant is up to refresh the haste buff or let it drop off because many tyrant-empowered imps >>> haste buff.
You should use Implosion ~10 seconds before you’re going to use Tyrant so that you can build up imps beforehand. Then, right as the Tyrant cast finishes you Implode and get the buff for the duration of Tyrant. The implode doesn’t do damage, but the imps are going to despawn anyway.
You shouldn’t ever have to decide whether or not to implode halfway through Tyrant.
What if you have Baleful Invocation/Demonic Consumption? Bc then the Tyrant eats all your imps when he spawns, so there’s none left to implode.
easy fix. You just don’t use that talent because its pretty bad
Naw the talent is awesome it’s the best Pvp talent! I use for mythic plus too and if you implode after the tyrant is summoned you still get the hate buff even though it just ate the imps. Someone else mentioned this earlier in the post.

I’d rather use Sac Souls in any situation really. Provides consistent damage rather than a gimmick. Plus in M+ im pretty portal is still overall better for single target.
As SS is also better for cleave, while not ideal, still have a bigger niche than DC in my opinion.
The Dcon talent is actually rapidly becoming the go-to. It synergies better than people think

Almost everything you just said is wrong.
Dcon with explosive potential traits is the best build in raid right now. It’s better than NP and better than SacSouls.
Portal is abysmal in M+ unless you’re just totally afk on trash.
This is old advice.
It doesn’t matter. The implode still registers because Tyrant takes like a quarter second to eat the imps. You get the buff even though the damage doesn’t go through.
If I understand what you said,
- Have a bunch of wild imps up
- Cast Demonic Tyrant (with the Demonic Consumption talent)
- Immediately cast Implosion
- And you get the Haste buff
Not one single time did I get that to work.
The GCD on Tyrant prevents casting Implosion fast enough for the Implosion to occur.
How are you doing it?

So you have 3 or 6 or a bazillion imps out. Doesn’t matter. But you’re ready for your DCon goodness. As you are casting your summon tyrant, start pressing the Implosion key. Spam that bugger. Once your tyrant pops up, you’ll have your haste buff back.
So again: Cast Summon Tryant, as it’s casting, spam Implosion. WIN!

Mash Implosion as you’re casting Tyrant. I’m not sure what you mean by the GCD prevents it, there’s no GCD issue because Tyrant is casted.
You have to make sure that you press Implosion before the Tyrant cast finishes (0.4 seconds is the default iirc). This queues the spell and it fires immediately after the cast. If you wait until the cast is done the Imps will despawn too quickly because your cast doesn’t hit the server until maybe a tenth to a quarter second after the Tyrant is done.

I just got back into playing with 8.1 a couple of weeks ago. I guess i didn’t realize that it was updated and buffed. Even asked my guild for some help on talents.
My aplogies for misinformation
Constantly using implosion consumes your imps, diminishing the value of Sac Souls by a lot. And also, Nether Portal has always been the worst talent for M+, Dcon is definitely the best right now.
Generally I see my opener as being hardcast demobolt/Hand/stalkers/implosion/shadowbolt/soulstrike to 5 shards/hand/demobolt/hand/demobolt/hand(if you have shards [Even 1 shard is worth enough])/Tyrant+Implosion+on-usetrinket/dreadstalkers/demonicstrength.
This is also dependent on procs. It’s most likely you wouldn’t have the two demo bolt procs right before tyrant if you do the rotation right. At that point you’d skip the demonbolts and just go to hand/hand until you can’t any more (This rotation is all assuming you’re playing soul conduit).
Using stalkers that early can easily be risky with lower haste. I’d suggest Demobolt precast, HoG, SS, SB (to 4 shards) Implosion, Felguard if talented, Dreadstalkers, build to 5 with SB, HoG, SS, HoG, DSTR + on-use, Tyrant.
