I know this trait is amazing and basically gives you perma bloodlust, but I hate playing it. It just feels so clunky and gimmicky.
I’m reasonably sure we’re not meant to play the spec this way. Although idk if Blizzard will change it. Part of me secretly hopes it gets nerfed because I just don’t like the feel of it.
Maintenance buffs are not fun to me. It’s why I hated legion demo so much. Demonic empowerment was awful. Explosive potential feels the same way, except it’s not cast as often.
I also dislike it because we’re summoners, and having an army of demons around you is fun to see. This trait is completely counter productive to that. Especially if you run demonic consumption with it…
I’m sure other people really enjoy it, and that’s great, but I secretly hope it gets nerfed so we can at least stop using it in single target

I enjoy it a lot, personally. Makes our target swapping much better, I love my machine-gun tyrant critting for 50-60k, and my wrathguard has a field day with all the legion strikes he gets to throw out everywhere. It also adds some depth to a spec that already has an impressive amount of it.
Is it the only thing that makes demo fun? Nah. It’s just a different build and a different way of playing it. So many classes are only functional with one build/playstyle (looking at you, affliction) so it’s refreshing to have a spec where talent and trait choices can switch everything up so dramatically.
I assume they’ll nerf it at some point only because it’s just going to make demo stronger and stronger as the weeks go on. A permanent 2.5k haste buff is disgusting.
I’ve always disliked having low haste, and explosive potential makes the rotation feel so much faster and smoother. I can understand what you mean from the summoner part, but I personally like the extra button and the fast haste.

I think there are some ways they could improve the overall usability of Implosion (making it more like Spirit Bomb), but overall I’m fine with it. I think a lot of what makes it feel good right now is that we’ve all suddenly gained 40% haste and that feels good, but over time it’ll start to just feel like normal.
I bought a 385 shoulder to get 3 traits and tried it. What I found was that I was spending all my time concentrating on maintaining that haste buff and that leaves no time for mechanics. Affliction is just easier for me…I dance around and toss an agony now and then.
I guess I like the extreme mobility of affliction and will have to put up with the 10% lower damage than demo

Demos mobility is actually improved with the implosion trait. You are constantly using implosion during movement, which is an additional instant cast. I suggest a weakaura to track when to refresh your buff.

I hate that I’m 7/9, soon 8/9 mythic and still only have a single 400 piece with an EP trait on it.
ill trade you my 415 EP/SC helm for some luck on mekka tonight
good players get good gear, so if you have bad gear…
=P
Nightbot is gonna go rogue and ban you for this one
The guy is 415 ilvl 8/8 mythic uldir and 7/8 bfa plus has done a lot of M+15 in time. I think it is safe to say he is good.
Once you get used to it, it’s really not that bad. The worst part about it is having your UI show not only your imp numbers, but also their energy level since you want them to cast a few times before imploding.
