The droprate for Explosive Ash from the Lava Phoenix which we collect for the Engineering quest of the same name is absolutely atrocious. Killed 15 phoenixes with a single drop.

Anytime this game makes you think about anything just have this in your mind.
Blizzard have created the game specifically to waste your sub time.

Took me about an hour to do this one. Drop rate sucked but so did looting livers from a boar in BC expansion way back in 2008.

I do agree they either need to up the drop rate or reduce the total necessary to 10.
