Why hasn’t WoW developed any additional features such as the Brawler’s Guild… imagine if we could join the Explorer’s Guild that had features where you have to go cave-dwelling into old and new content across Azeroth. Areas have been built for exploration and we often breeze right by them. This could tie into archeology, but be it’s own separate entity entirely. I look at a lot of potential with addition features such as this. I’m not saying go full blown ESO, add a mages college, fighter’s guild, thieves guild, but rather use what it already in the game and just allow us to learn more about these coveted organizations.
Explorer’s Guild
The explorer’s guild is open to all and any who have what it takes to traverse Azeroth in search of her greatest secrets. Learn more about the races that inhabit the world, uncover hidden truths never before seen, and venture to depths new and old.
- Entry to guild quest line (standard stuff here)
- Earn ranks as you progress through the guild
- Unlock hidden rewards (Xmog, Mounts, Toys…)
- Learn the lore behind various races, zones, and the Titans
Player Benefit
There are countless benefits to adding an Explorer’s Guild and more… Some of these benefits are:
- Increased playtime (Acti-Blizz licking their chops)
- Interact with the world again
- New Mounts - Usable inside caves (Mole? Drill?)
- Re-open Old IF for the Alliance
- Retake and expand on Ragefire Chasm for the Horde
Help boost secondary professions
Some secondary professions are lacking flavor. Fishing has some really cool items you can fish up and it ties really well into cooking, but you never have a desire to go catch Moby Duck* and conquer the greatest beasts of the ocean. They could tie in the Explorer’s Guild into each secondary profession to allow them to open new features. If they were to implement player housing (purely for cosmetic fun), they could do even more.
Archeology - Players can uncover new secrets and learn from the Explorer’s dig sites. I go back and think of how the Badlands has “digs” that the Explorer Guilds are looking into, and now players can use their archeology knowledge to help uncover their mysteries.
Cooking - Learn recipes from races old and new. Ever wonder what is brewing in those Furbolg’s cauldrons in Winterspring?
Fishing - Complete a quest line opening a new line of fishing - players can now go out and catch the monsters of the sea. Prove you have what it take to be a master angler and show off your trophies.
First Aid - Gone but not forgotton.
There is so many things they can do that would give players extra things to do. If they implement player housing, you could display your greatest finds. Player’s could progress at their own pace and one of the most obvious factors… Give players more things to do that can carry over from expansion to expansion. So many features implemented every expansion become obsolete after that expansion ends, but this would be able to carry over as we will always have new lands, races, and mysteries to explore.
They could then introduce new similar concepts if they find this to be a success. I don’t see nearly enough new concepts being mentioned to enhance the game we all love that doesn’t revolve around the same things… pathfinder, grinds, gearing, endgame… Let’s establish fresh concepts!
