They’ve already done the backend work and the patch is downloaded. Tomorrow is a go!

Well there are a lot of bugs on PTR, so maybe they were still undecided about 29th or 6th.
There is absolutely no chance of it being tomorrow. Pre-patch changes are still coming every week, maintenance tomorrow lasts only 2 hours, the announcement for the end of the season literally came out today, a 5 week pre-patch is definitely not needed, the questline is divided into 2 weeks.
They’ve got pretty good at maintenance windows. And even if they run over, it’s as simple as “maintenance extended till X, sorry for the inconvenience”.

Wednesday’s beta/PTR build will be interesting if they don’t just come out and say it.
Just about every patch has an 8 hour window announced, no way is a major patch going to have a 2 hour window.
That’s a no dawg. Don’t stretch like that, you’ll pull a muscle.
Did you miss the blue post about prepatch being split into two branches? One for the prepatch launch, and one for PTR, where testing will continue, and then be merged with live before launch?

Pretty much this. If they said the 29th now, and ran into some game breaking bug and had to delay it a week, people would flip.
It’s one for PTR (9.0.1), one for Beta (9.0.2).
Ironically they stopped a lot of things around WoD, announcing prepatch dates early, giving much info at blizzcon, people really caused them to be careful with what they say with wods disappointments
Well you still ignored the rest of my reasons, assuming because you know they are very well founded. The pre-patch is coming out on 29th at the earliest, there is absolutely nothing pointing towards it being tomorrow, nor would it make any sense whatsoever.
no way its the 29th they haven’t announced the 2 week pvp closure it cant be tomorrow because the current PTR build isnt a release candidate. First Tuesday in Oct I think is the most likely day.
All major updates have always been accompanied by an 8 hour downtime for maintence. Even with pre downloads. They can add the content but they still got to make sure the servers dont crash and people can login
There’s actually things pointing at it NOT being tomorrow in fact. Dunno why those guys keep insisting.
They are good at making their maintenance windows, but the pre-patch is not being released tomorrow. That’s not even a debate, but simple fact.

My guess is the PTR gets a Release build on Wednesday and if that goes well pre-patch announcement on Friday for the 29th.
