Fair enough. This type of opaque communication just strikes me as odd. Granted, I normally don’t pay attention much to these things. Maybe I am just particularly antsy for anything else except 8.3

And https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/news/20175676 kind of backs it up, there would be a date in there if the date had already been announced, and there’s 2 articles missing between the 7th and 11th of july, plus article 20175678 which was posted on july 8th somehow has a higher number than article 20175676 which was posted AFTER it? They changed articles.

My two cents about why it won’t be a 1-week announcement (i.e. why prepatch won’t be on 9/29/2020) is that unless they announce it today (doubtful, considering they went through the trouble of posting this WITHOUT a date) they are going to “have” to give at least a weekly reset warning to people.
Meaning, if they announce tomorrow that the patch is the following week it doesn’t give guilds/PVPers/anybody a full reset to do the last things they want/need.
I know a lot of people on here don’t care about that and are just bored and want new content (and I do, too, I feel you), but I just don’t think it’s realistic for Blizz to be like, “Ok, so today was the last reset before pre-patch! Hope you can get it done!”

I don’t know if I’m happy about not needing Pathfinder to fly in Legion or not. I mean, on the one hand, yeah, it’s a PITA and should have been removed a long time ago. On the other hand, I’m working through it right now and will probably have it before the pre-patch launches. It’s not like there’s much else to do except go back to older content and finish coloring it in, but still.
Yea, I remember them changing it too. When they update the title of a post, it changes the string in the url, but it doesn’t really affect the link because the cms only looks at the number.
8 days isn’t much different then 11, most guilds do their stuff tues/wed/thurs
the only “helpful information” we need is when TF it’s coming…

For BfA, I don’t think we ever got a date though. I could be wrong. Legion season 7 ended “Soon” and that was that.
i’m glad i’m not the only one who remembers that haha, wish it would have been archived

Right, for bfa definitely the first date was on the friday before the patch, it’s still out there without being changed
Kinda late to plan an extra night tonight though. A heads up on friday would’ve been nice.
So now the question becomes, did they literally decide this this morning for the 29th and couldn’t do it on Friday or is it for the 6th ?
Or the guy in charge of writing up the post didn’t finish friday, usually one of the CMs writes the blog posts.

It’s dropping tomorrow. I’ve been saying this, but everyone just keeps saying “muh two week PvP notice”. Chanting it like some power word that will protect them from blizzard.

I don’t think they’re giving a 2 week notice. The key part in all that was the Special Post Season PVP bit. Have they ever had a post season PVP with all the stuff mentioned? I don’t know if it’ll drop tomorrow but I’d bet it’d be at most by the 29th.
