If you are going to take the exploits out of classic, like falling under the maps, and overtuned classes… It’s not classic. Do you realize thats all some people did when they played it was the high point of playing, to find the glitches. It saddens me to know that these such things will be removed in the coming so called “classic” game.
How is an “overtuned class” an exploit?
Don’t worry!!! a lot of the terrain glitches are still in. On the beta I have been able to get on top of SW ramparts/underneath SW and into the Caverns of Time.
Please provide me a link of Blizzard saying that.
I remember saying that exploring exploits (liek going to Hyjal and going into the Caverns of Time, should be kept, because it doesn’t affect any PvE/PvP content nor bring advantage… only a different PoV to the player.
However, if certains exploits… say the WSG on the top of the Horde Flag room (not inside, but on the outside edge), then that should be bannable without any question.
Blizzard clearly stated that anything that did harm pve/pvp or give a player a clear unintended advantage will be removed.
However anything that didn’t do those are staying.
You mean did instead of didn’t?
I meant did.
On my phone didn’t see the error.
As it is based on the modern client with the modern boundary checking, they will be. No under SW, no IF airport…
sorry to burst your bubble, but under SW and IF airport are accessible in beta, and they will remain on Classic, because it doesn’t bring any disadvantage/advantage into a PvE/PvP environment.
So, this puzzles me. It has clearly been stated a number of times in the past that doing something like accessing a part of the game environment that is not actually a part of the normal game is considered an exploit and you can be punished for doing it. I have heard of one such area in the current game that has been in existence for years and presumably going to visit it could get you punished.
So if they know of these areas and accessing them is considered a punishable exploit, why are they being left in the game?
Because they are authentic to vanilla. And they don’t hurt the player base.
because Classic.
And as stated MULTIPLE times … if it doesn’t affect PvE/PvP or bring an advantage/Disadvantage. It should not be punished.(that what they said, but feel free to prove me otherwise)
Beside the point I am trying to make. It may be authentic. But isn’t leaving it in existence essentially tempting people to do something that will get them in trouble? That seems counterintuitive to me. Not to mention odd.
this is doable in the beta.
They have stated they are not doing any class balance.
Well I guess if they said so. Of course, if 50 people get a time-out ban in Classic for accessing the SW exploit things might get amusing on the forums… Let’s hope common sense prevails.
You are completely not understanding the point blizzard is making. Those actions arent considered wrong in classic.
On a Point of View, does those actions bring a disadvantage/advantage in a PvE/PvP situations?
The only thing i could see that being an advantage, is that they somehow use the SW sewers(the other one) to avoid a horde raid. Then THAT should be bannable.
But if they are doing it, jsut to explore, i see no harm.
I am pretty sure you cant access the sewers with the glitch.
They could also just make it so if you go under sw. The only way back is to log off your character and it ports you directly to the inn.
So that idea doesn’t even work.
Well, the only way to go back(from under SW), is to either jump under the map(since there is some portion under SW that don’t have texture), or use the /stuck option (unless they remove that)
I thought the /stuck was brought in at a later expansion.
