It is cheating, and it will get you banned. I’ve reported people and they have got banned as recently as this week. Definitive, end of story.
To that end, I also do not think it should be removed. This is what you call a honeypot. People that are willing to exploit something like this will absolutely exploit anything else they can. Leaving this in the game reveals those people so they can get banned before anything else game breaking crops up in this 18 year old game.
You wanna cheat? You’re gonna get banned. Don’t like it? Don’t play. The game is better off without you anyway.
Want to preface this with saying I do not think you are lying. I would just like some proof that said person was banned for specifically this. Only Time I’ve ever heard of anyone getting banned for this, since from like original vanilla where people was taking the flag out of bounds or crazy places holding it hostage.
Only people I’ve reported in the past 2 weeks have been for wsg exploits (trying to slowly work on exalted) and I just got the mail today saying that my reports got someone banned. Not absolute but it’s close enough to conclude.
Wonder if it was automated because of multiple people or if a person actually reviewed oooor if the person is going to or have won an appeal on the report. But regardless fair enough.

Provide proof of that claim. Because I know for a fact nobody is getting banned for basic jumps. Prove otherwise.

See? This is the great thing about honeypots. Yes, blizzard knows about them, and they very likely want people just like you thinking just what you said. There doesn’t need to be proof, and the people that do get banned have to make a new account and can’t say they’ve been banned until they do. I really, really hope people keep doing the jumps and exploits, less people to cheat in later phases.
When you make a claim that isn’t believable, you need proof. Yes you do.
Blizzard hosted a literal WSG tournament in classic. Every team was using jumps in blizzards face. Nothing was done.
Guess what else happened? Blizzard’s last pvp ptr, they fixed and blocked many safespots on the map, they requested them on the stream of a popular EU Druid flag runner. Blocked safespots and these jumps are still in the game.
Since your claim works against observable reality which is blizzard leaving them in, the burden is on you to prove it.
You say people “get banned”. You need to attach some evidence proving it’s for the reason you say, because we all know you can mass report anyone for any reason. If the reason is faulty they are immediately unbanned
Why would I want to prove anything to anyone? There’s three camps of people; those that do it habitually, those that are on the fence or do it occasionally, and those that don’t do it at all. The first group, your group, are the ones that will get the banhammer. The second group are the ones that are searching for these threads here and anywhere else to see if it’s banable, and the third group are the ones making these threads. Go ahead, keep doing it, please, like I said before the game would be better off without you.
You don’t need to, that just means I know you’re making claims with no evidence. I know for a fact nobody has been legitimately banned “for jumps in wsg”. You are possibly attributing mass reporting to your outcome. In other words, affirming the consequent logical fallacy.
You’re gonna need to prove this claim. We have all been jumping for 5+ years, even jumping in blizzards face in their own tournament and nobody is banned still. You are never going to win this conversation and your baseless assertion cannot be proven.

You’ll never have a coherent response to the fact blizzard watched EVERY TEAM doing these jumps in their own tournament and nobody was banned. No rules from blizzard on jumps there either.
When you speak to a GM they tell you that they are not allowed to let you know the outcome of their investigations. Even if you report someone for something like language violations they won’t tell you the outcome of their decisions. But somehow you get emails letting you know people are being banned?

He has zero proof and no Avenue to prove it because of the reason you stated.

Who said I spoke to a GM? You get these mails all the time if you actually care about the health of the game.

My buddy got banned recently for “botting/cheating”
Perma ban
Turns out after blizzard investigations, he was mass reported for boosting in WC. He suspects it was gold sellers who reported him though can’t be truly proven.
Blizzard immediately unbanned him 30 minutes after the ticket. Account restored.
If you mass reported someone and he got banned he will just be unbanned. Sorry dude. I know A TON of people who do jumps. I have never known one single individual get banned for it.
You aren’t winning this. And you should know you too can be banned for faulty mass reporting
