Is it against “Play nice, play fair” or an abuse of game mechanics or other ToS to use a realm’s forums/discord/dragonslayer-schedule to:
Step #1: Track when guilds are planning to drop ony/nef heads
Step #2: Pay some random 10g to drop their head 30 mins before such a scheduled time.
Step #3: Charge the guild coalition that was planning to drop a head 200g for your opposite faction priest alt to kill the turn-in NPC so that it can be reset and the buff can go out.
Appreciate feedback on these recent shenanigans, even if you aren’t a blue.
Unless they reset you can’t drop it early.

You drop it early to break the protection drop, and then drop it early after that.
First of all…: who the heck is paying 200g for a reset?? Lol on my medium pop server top guilds just have an agreement to do it for free for each other. Top guilds have leveled a priest on each faction and park the priest in SW / Org purely for resets.
And even the less try hard guilds that want a reset pay maybe 10-15g for the service. And our Black Lotus are 200-225g. Lol so clearly it’s not as valuable a commodity.

No, it’s not an exploit.
It’s just meta gaming the meta gamers. Nothing wrong with it.
I think people should blacklist anyone and the guild they are in if they are intentionally sabotaging other people’s guild runs. Besides, 200g? level a priest on the opposite faction.
Break it down.
Is cross faction coalition against ToS? Yes, in classic PvP server
Now Blizzard turns a blind eye to this because it’s not truly hurting anyone or effecting them in a negative Manner. By resetting a buff which benefits players.
Now let say you go kill that priest on a PvP server many times. Ppl report, harass you, or silence your toon.
Now blizzard will do something to those individuals or group of ppl. Temporary band or something else. Why? PvP server you were playing the game even though you were technically probably griefing or by accident the ppl that bought said action.
In the end PvP happened on a PvP server. Then ppl negatively effected another under false reporting or harassment for play the game.
If it becomes a big issue with more and more like that. Blizzard will fix the issue.
I wish they would. Either make it impossible to reset, or get rid of the cooldown, I don’t care which one.
But crossfaction collusion and assassination of a high ranking individual of your own faction doesn’t sit right with me on an RP server. This action should not be mechanically incentivized.

This is the norm with hordies. Like for the past few expansions they’ve tried to kill their own faction leader. It is part of the RP.
Excuse my ignorance. Are people killing the NPC’s where you for turn-in so that faction cannot turn-in properly? Wouldn’t that be very difficult with players populating SW/Org all the time?

Let’s get this spinach.
I think the issue is that back in vanilla you didn’t have as many guild clearing BWL in a week as we do on servers today. so back then all the guild mainly raided the same night so would coordinate the buff for everyone. Would be nice if the cooldown was removed as that is why guilds have it reset. I mean the ZG buff has no CD so you can turn it in whenever and buff everyone on the island/BB even if a heart was just done 5 minutes prior. Make the dragons the same way.
Its not that hard to do…especially if the one resetting is in your guild and you have a priest MC him to make him friendly as the guards path by and help him get closer to the NPC…course the ones doing the reset have the pathing down and can avoid the guards for the most part

Acknowledged. Thank you fellow manlet.
Do people actually go this far to prevent buffs from happening? Isn’t getting the buff the whole purpose of this, so coordinating any guilds from stopping this seems irrelevant?
I can understand your comment in Vanilla, as servers were less populated, so preventing the opposite faction from using the buff can be more detrimental.
I’ve never seen any hardcore effort at prevention. Hour or two, is usually about as long as it lasts before one side or the other either gives up or is done playing for the night.
the obvious solution here is for your coalition to level an opposite faction priest. take control of the situation and don’t let them bully you. boosting an opposite faction priest in the open world is not that difficult because of holy nova. if your coalition has gold to spare, boosting services.
this is really toxic behavior though, i would try to blacklist the guild with the opposite faction priest doing this, if realistic/possible.
i still don’t find this to be as toxic as what occurred on incendius though. Horde players leveling alliance alts to 60 for the explicit purpose of killing the mind control priest in stormwind.
I laughed pretty hard at this.
man it was so frustrating. we retaliated with planting dead priests at songflowers who’d insta-rez when the flower gets picked by horde and purge as many buffs as possible before getting killed.
we had a meeting with them, they said they were leaving because of toxic felwood behavior. we countered, “well your guild literally instigated all of this because you screwed with our buff resets for a month”.
their response? “oh that was different”
