So, quite a few people by now are/should be aware of the fact that you are able to use certain buffs like motw and intellect if you do a follower dungeon and leave at the right moment. we also know about the versatility buff provided from your garrison as well as an additional versatility buff using the mistletoe. there is also a way to increase your ring IL but i dont really care about that because you have to pay cash etc dont care dont care…
HOWEVER, the rest of the stuff that is happening like MoTW and Int as well as the Vers buffs just blows my mind. not because its happening, not because people are taking advantage of it, not because the best players in the world are timing 20s on stream using these buffs, but because blizzard has not even acknowledged that it is even happening, acting like its not even a thing and THAT is mind blowing.
i have not done a key since last friday when i found out that this was a even a thing so it has probably been happening longer than that. we have absolutely ZERO transparency on this issue…WHY? dont even try to tell me that “its the holidays, we are too busy to address the issue” when there are clearly employees who work from home, some even full time i imagine, and we cant put out a single paragraph in a blue post regarding these issues? a simple “hey, dont do this, but you can do that” would suffice, but instead we get a blue post about how they fixed some stupid and irrelevant bugs - one of which was from season 2 of dragonflight! are you serious?! a year later? lol, this is what i pay for? shame on me.
“new dungeons every season!” great, new bugs to brick my key every season or new faceroll tech required to push high keys! Disc priest, anyone?
“enjoy farming VERY RARE bis raid items all season! better hope you dont need to reroll with the omega great tuning!”
“enjoy gearing your alts/rerolls in TWW! its only going to take you 90 in time dungeons to do so!”
look man, i can deal with a lot of the BS like this ^, but the raid buff/exploit issue right now kind of has me fuming if you cant tell. how can there be ZERO transparency on a VERY obvious and controversial topic? i may get banned if i do this but at this point, most people are doing it. if i dont do it, im going to fall very far behind in M+ rating (just under 3300 right now). can i use the motw and intellect as well as the 4500 vers buff? or is it just the 4500 vers buff? or is it just the mistletoe vers buff? or is it just the motw/int buff?

sometimes i just cannot believe the lack of professionalism that exists within blizzard. i really cant. if i did my job like this, i wouldnt have a job.

how do you get the versatility buff from your garrison? If you could explain in a “i heard from a friend of a friend you do this…”?

I believe this is a side effect of the increased expansion release rate. They’re working so far ahead on content that current content is the last thing on their minds.

Idk man. Do you care if people are running 20s with these exploits?

I don’t, but I’m not one of those people who care about my spot on a leaderboard either so :dracthyr_shrug:

There’s a reason that people say “exploit early, exploit often”.

Generally speaking, unless it’s especially egregious, the worst Blizzard typically do is a rollback. There’s very little disincentive for exploiting when the punishment is non-existent or at worst, a slap on the wrist 90% of the time.

Another side of that coin is if they punish exploiters harshly then people will be more secretive with the exploits they find and it makes it harder for blizzard to patch them.

God forbid they just hire some QA.

Not really. WoW is far too much of a data driven game for exploits to remain secret for long.

Like the current example, the exploit was discovered to be happening because someone started poking around some Chinese M+ logs. You think if competitive M+ers get a chance to stick their thumb in another teams eye they’re not going to take that chance?
