Exploit or Intended

So I have a question about the Anniversary event. It seems that if you que as a horde and use the mercenary contract you can have both “Korrak the Bloodrager” and The Legend of Korrak" which allow you to obtain 2 lvl 400 weapons as well as being able to obtain both “Lokholar the Ice Lord” as well as “Ivus the Forest Lord”. Now I talked to a GM and he said it was considered double dipping but when I warn people that this might be considered an Exploit (via the GM message) they tell me until there is a blue post there is no conflict and to continue doing it. They have even went so far as to convice others to do it too. Could a Blue Post please clarify. Thank you!

Horde bias.

Ignore my 415 against all odds weapon.

I would be interested to see what Blue says about this too. Following

Given that it means that horde side can get double the honor which should be considered unfair since the alliance can’t que as horde. I mean think about it if you have 6 characters x1500 honor they get an extra honor level over the alliance simply because they can que as a mercenary. Not the alliances fault. Unfair.

Don’t you have to go Mercenary before queuing? I thought so at least. No? How does that work, queue then talk to the recruiter rather than the other way around?

you have to go mercenary first and then que. But if there are too many horde only horde can get the ability to que as mercenary. At least on the 5 servers I have characters on.

Ok so it gives you both factions rewards even though you did it right? That isn’t an exploit then, it’s an oversight by blizz that they need to hotfix asap.

Basically right now when you go mercenary you can aquire the honor and weapon quest on the alliance side and then que as a horde and get the quests again on the horde side thus giving you double the weapons, double the honor. I asked a GM they said it was double dipping and to stop. But others are still telling everyone to do it because it’s okay. I’m asking for clarification. =)

Doesnt sound like an exploit and def not Horde bias. More like Alliance participation is to low to do the same as Alliance. Tgats not Blizz their fault thats on the community.

Just think about it if I have 6 horde toons that means I get an extra level of honor to the person who has alliance toons. Seems very unfair.

Oh I see. That is a fine line IMO. I mean if you queue as Mercenary you SHOULD get something, not to isn’t fair. They may need to make this particular BG not queue’able as Mercenary, though that may cause longer wait times on Alliance.

Its not an exolpoit though more like an oversight. Besides it helps Alliance participation. If you merc you get rewarded for helping the Alliance doing the same quests as them.

Oversights tend to get hotfixed.

I do see your point but I would have to say that the mercenary system was implemented to cut down on que times not allow people an advantage over the other faction simply because they can’t que as a mercenary.

They need to do something quick about this one way or another. I mean honestly I would not consider it an exploit though it certainly isn’t fair to Alliance. In fact I’m sorely tempted to do this on my Horde toons now that I know about it.

What they get are shorter queues.

Believe me the reason I even asked a GM was because my son said that I should stop because I could get in trouble. I have 100+ toons so can you imagine how many damned free honor levels I could get from that. So I asked a GM and they said it was double dipping and to stop because he was reporting it. So I did. But others are encouraging people to use it. Said unless there was a blue post we were fine. Soooo that is why I want clairification. LOL

We really need a Blue to weigh in on this and they need to warn players in-game at the queue. I mean if someone doesn’t know it’s considered an exploit they’ll just think it’s the game mechanics and go on with it and most players don’t frequent the board.

I wouldn’t have even questioned it because like I said before, you should get something every BG no matter how you queue, to get nothing from it isn’t fair in itself.

I totally agree with you. I did it a few times before I said anything to my son and he was nope that’s not normal and could get you in trouble. LOL

Knowing Blizz, they will hotfix it and ban all who took advantage regardless, just like the xp potion thing.
