Is it something everyone will have to do to stay competitive? I don’t want to abuse the game but it seems like everyone is doing it now

This is exactly the issue here. Those who are exploiting layering are getting a huge advantage.
Blizzard needs to step in and fix this issue ASAP. Then they need to remove all layering exploit gains from those who did it. Then issue bans.

I agree… I’ve seen pictures of people with hundreds of thousands of golds already it’s out of control.

There are always going to be people who play all day amassing crazy amounts of gold. Just enjoy the game. It’s not competitive if you don’t want it to be.
But I guess if you want to be the top player and sit in town all day showing random people your gold, yes.

It’s not about being the top player, it’s about people abusing a mechanic that was never a part of actual vanilla to gain a huge advantage.

But yeah if you want to be competitive you need to layer hop for 16 hours a day until phase 2. I recommend against being competitive.
Sure, it sucks and should be fixed. You don’t have to let it ruin your experience with the game though.
